Cleveland’s pitching staff allowed just three hits all game and struck out 21 Chicago batters, holding the White Sox scoreless for the ninth time this postseason matchup.
Williams set the tone from the start, working 5.2 innings and allowing a single hit while walking two. He handed the ball to a bullpen that did not blink. Erik Sabrowski got the final out of the sixth, Hunter Gaddis worked 1.1 innings and Cade Smith closed it out with 1.2 scoreless innings for the save, striking out four of the five batters he faced.
