Los Angeles tied the score in the second period on a power-play goal from Artemi Panarin, but Vegas controlled much of the night, outshooting the Kings 32-27 and converting two of three power-play chances.

Trevor Connelly opened the scoring at 2:37 of the second period, snapping in a shot off assists from Mark Stone and Marner. Panarin answered for Los Angeles at 6:21 of the same period, scoring off feeds from Adrian Kempe and Brandt Clarke to make it 1-1. Neither team scored in the third period, sending the game to overtime.
Marner settled it in the extra frame, scoring on a snap shot at 2:40 with assists from Stone and Connelly. Stone picked up four assists on the night, including the game-winner.

Vegas won 34 of 58 faceoffs for a 58.6% success rate, well above the Kings’ 41.4%. Jack Eichel led Vegas in faceoff wins with eight, though he was held off the scoresheet. Panarin scored on the power play for Los Angeles; Adrian Kempe added an assist.
