Georgia Southern outlook

Receiver Ashton Hollins had 202 yards and two touchdowns through the first three games, according to Sports Illustrated. Coach Clay Helton is 2-2 in Sun Belt openers, according to WTOC.

Coastal Carolina outlook

The Chanticleers have lost two in a row, falling 22-14 at Delaware on Sept. 19 and 34-17 to Liberty on Sept. 24. Coastal led Liberty 17-10 at halftime before the Flames scored 24 unanswered points. Liberty is also the subject of our Liberty vs. Delaware preview.

Quarterback Deuce Bailey went 17-of-34 for 213 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions against Liberty, and receiver Colton Hinton caught a 24-yard score. Bailey’s 1,039 passing yards lead the Sun Belt, according to WTOC. Coastal’s only win this season was a 45-7 rout of Fordham on Sept. 12. It lost 31-24 at West Virginia on Sept. 5.

What to watch

Both teams start 0-0 in the Sun Belt, so a win would give either one an early foothold in the league race. Georgia Southern will look to keep Johnson upright and find Taylor downfield again. Coastal needs to avoid another second-half fade and protect the football.
