Boston Red Sox Starting Pitcher Garrett Crochet has continued to impress this year. He had another great outing last night on the road against the Los Angeles Angels. He tossed seven scoreless innings and punched out 10. He walked away with a no-decision as Boston’s defense coughed up the game. Crochet is 7-4 this season with a 2.06 ERA. He is fourth in the league in ERA, leading the league in strikeouts, and 12th in WHIP.
Crochet’s 2025 has him in elite company. He joined Red Sox legend Pedro Martinez as the only other pitcher in franchise history to have 110+ strikeouts and fewer than 30 runs allowed in his first 17 starts of the season. Will the ace continue pitching this well for the Red Sox?
Garrett Crochet Career Summary
Crochet has surpassed expectations in his first season with the Boston Red Sox. He signed a six-year $170 million contract with the squad in April 2025. He debuted with the Chicago White Sox in 2020. He became a full-time starter with the team in 2021. The best season of his career came in 2024 when he made his lone All-Star appearance. He looks well on his way to another appearance in the “Midsummer Classic” next month.
Final Thoughts
Crochet’s next scheduled start is on June 30 at home against the Cincinnati Reds. He will look to continue pitching well for a Red Sox team that has underachieved this season. The ace has been one of the few bright spots for a poor pitching staff.
