Goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 15 of 16 shots for Anaheim and turned aside 12 of 13 at even strength. Winnipeg’s Clay Stevenson allowed four goals on 16 shots, finishing with a .750 save percentage.

Judd Caulfield opened the scoring at 14:41 of the first period on a snap shot assisted by Jeff Malott and Tim Washe. Washe doubled the lead early in the second, scoring at 5:20 off feeds from Malott and Caulfield to make it 2-0.
