Cowboys Outlook

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott has completed 66.3% of his passes for 1,639 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions through six games, and the Cowboys rank among the league’s more productive offenses at 25.2 points per game. Running back Javonte Williams has added 317 yards and seven touchdowns on 85 carries, giving Dallas a rushing punch to pair with CeeDee Lamb’s 48 catches for 577 yards and four scores.

The Cowboys convert 47.22% of third downs and score touchdowns on 77.27% of red zone trips, both figures that outpace Philadelphia’s marks. Dallas has turned the ball over seven times against three takeaways, a minus-4 differential that has factored into three losses this season.

Offensive tackle Broderick Jones (wrist) and tackle Drew Shelton (hamstring) are listed as questionable, while receiver KaVontae Turpin (ribs) also carries a questionable tag. Linebacker Dee Winters (calf strain) is doubtful, and linebacker Marist Liufau remains on injured reserve with a forearm fracture. Prescott is projected to start under center.

Eagles Outlook

Philadelphia’s offense has struggled to find consistency, averaging just 17.7 points and 191.3 passing yards per game. Quarterback Tanner McKee has completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown this season. Running back Saquon Barkley has carried the ball 36 times for 182 yards but appears on the injury report as questionable with a right hamstring issue.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith, the team’s leading receiver with 26 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns, is also questionable with a hamstring injury. Tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and tackle Fred Johnson (illness) round out a lengthy questionable list for Philadelphia.

The Eagles have allowed 2.7 sacks per game, nearly double the 1.2 sacks per game Dallas has surrendered. Philadelphia’s defense has forced only three takeaways while giving the ball away 0.8 times per game on average, contributing to a minus-2 turnover differential. McKee is projected to start if Philadelphia’s quarterback situation holds as currently listed.

Key Matchup

Dallas’ passing attack against an Eagles secondary that has allowed opponents to find consistent room through the air will shape the night. Prescott’s 273.2 passing yards per game and 90.1 quarterback rating give Dallas an advantage over a Philadelphia offense averaging just 191.3 yards through the air. If Smith and Barkley are limited by their hamstring issues, Philadelphia’s already thin offense could lean more heavily on its ground game, which averages 82.2 yards per game, to control the clock and keep Dallas’ offense off the field.

Players To Watch

Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys

Prescott has thrown for 1,639 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. His ability to avoid the five interceptions he has already thrown will matter against an Eagles defense looking for takeaways after managing only three all season.

CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys

Lamb leads Dallas with 48 receptions for 577 yards and four touchdowns. He remains Prescott’s top target in an offense that ranks first between these two teams in total yards per game.

DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles

Smith’s questionable hamstring status is worth tracking. He has 26 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns and represents Philadelphia’s most productive receiving option this season.

What To Watch

Both teams sit at 2-4 and tied in the NFC East standings behind New York, meaning a loss drops either club further from playoff contention early in the season. Philadelphia is attempting to halt a four-game losing streak at home, while Dallas looks to avoid consecutive road losses after falling at Green Bay. The health of Smith, Barkley and Goedert for Philadelphia, along with Dallas’ offensive line questions involving Jones and Shelton, will factor into how each team’s game plan unfolds.

Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones has discussed the team’s approach to the trade deadline, a storyline that continues to develop alongside the Cowboys’ on-field results, as detailed in Jerry Jones’ comments on trade deadline moves.
