The Baltimore Ravens acquired center Cam Jurgens from the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday in a trade that sent two Eagles picks west and brought back two future selections for Philadelphia. Baltimore receives Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick, while the Eagles get a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick, according to ESPN and NFL.com.

The deal addresses an offensive line in Baltimore that has been decimated by injuries this season. It also closes a chapter in Philadelphia that began when Jurgens took over for a franchise icon.

The Terms: What Each Side Gets

Baltimore’s return is straightforward: a two-time Pro Bowl center under contract through 2029 on the four-year, $68 million extension he signed in April 2025, plus a 2027 seventh-round pick. Philadelphia’s haul is built for the future, with a 2027 fifth-rounder and a 2028 second-round pick, the headline asset in the deal.

Jurgens arrives in Baltimore with a contract already in place, meaning the Ravens take on his money rather than negotiating a new deal. Philadelphia adds draft capital as it reshapes its roster following Johnson’s retirement.

Why It Happened And What It Means For Each Team

The Ravens’ interior offensive line has been in crisis mode for weeks. Baltimore lost All-Pro center Tyler Linderbaum to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency, then watched starting center Jovaughn Gwyn land on injured reserve with a fractured fibula. Backup center Ethan Pocic is also on injured reserve with a knee injury, and Danny Pinter’s season ended in training camp with a torn patellar tendon.

With those four names unavailable, Baltimore had been forced to move first-round pick Vega Ioane from right guard to center just to field a lineup. Acquiring Jurgens gives the Ravens a proven, accomplished starter to stabilize the position.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said the team has tracked Jurgens since before he entered the league. “Cam is a player we have long admired going all the way back to the draft process,” DeCosta said. “He’s a young foundational piece along our offensive line, a great scheme and cultural fit who will contribute quickly in Baltimore. We are confident that Cam will significantly impact our team and community.”

For Philadelphia, the trade comes one day after All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement from the NFL to focus on his mental health. The Eagles had already shifted Jurgens from center to left guard after guard Landon Dickerson went on injured reserve with a knee injury, leaving Philadelphia’s front five in flux before the trade was made.

Player Background

Philadelphia drafted Jurgens out of Nebraska in the second round, No. 51 overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent his first season behind Jason Kelce before taking over as the full-time starter once Kelce retired following the 2023 campaign. Jurgens went on to earn two Pro Bowl selections and appeared in 62 games with 45 starts over his Eagles career.

Jurgens is currently in the concussion protocol after self-reporting symptoms Monday morning. The sources do not specify when he might be cleared to play or whether he will line up at center or guard once he joins the Ravens.

What’s Next

The trade was announced Wednesday. Jurgens must clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before he can play. Philadelphia has not announced who will fill the void at center left by the trade.
