The Milwaukee Brewers routed the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in World Series Game 3 on Monday at Tropicana Field, pushing their series lead to 3-0. Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, while right-hander Robert Gasser held Tampa Bay without a run through six innings to pick up the win.

Milwaukee broke the game open with an eight-run fifth inning that turned a 2-0 lead into a 10-0 blowout. Brice Turang drove in two runs and scored once during the outburst, and William Contreras added three hits and an RBI. Rays starter Freddy Peralta took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings, and reliever Cam Booser made things worse by giving up four runs without recording an out.

Key Moments: How The Brewers Pulled Away

Milwaukee’s offense was quiet for the first two innings before Christian Yelich delivered an RBI single in the third that scored Chourio, with Jake Bauers moving to second. Contreras followed with a single that drove in Bauers, putting the Brewers up 2-0.

The fifth inning decided the game. Turang reached on an infield single that scored both Chourio and Yelich, making it 4-0. Garrett Mitchell then singled home Contreras, and Blake Pratt’s double brought in both Mitchell and Turang to make it 7-0. Sal Frelick’s double scored Pratt, and Chourio capped the inning with an RBI double that pushed the score to 10-0.

Tampa Bay’s only run came in the ninth when Yandy Diaz doubled to center, closing the final margin to 10-1.

Top Performers From Both Sides

Chourio led all hitters at 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Contreras went 3-for-5 with three hits and an RBI, and Turang finished 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. On the mound, Gasser earned the win with six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and three strikeouts against a single walk.

Diaz was the lone bright spot for Tampa Bay, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Peralta absorbed the loss, and Booser’s scoreless-out, four-run relief appearance compounded the damage in the fifth. As a team, the Rays managed only three hits across the game.

What It Means: Brewers One Win From The Title

Milwaukee improved to 103-59 this season and now needs just one more win to close out the World Series. Tampa Bay, which finished the regular season 98-64, has been shut out or nearly shut out through long stretches of this series and now faces elimination. The Brewers have outscored the Rays by a wide margin through the first three games, and Monday’s eight-run inning stands as the largest scoring frame of the series so far.
