Breece Hall ruled out Friday, and he is not alone: the New York Jets listed four other players as out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
Breece Hall ruled out with a quad injury
Hall, a running back, has a quadriceps injury and did not practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, according to the team’s official Week 4 injury report. The Jets also ruled out:
- Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger)
- Tight end Mason Taylor (thumb)
- Guard Dylan Parham (knee)
- Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad)
None of the five practiced at all this week. With Breece Hall ruled out, the offense takes the biggest hit, losing its lead back, a starting wide receiver, a tight end and a guard in one game. The running back agreed to a contract extension in May.
Minkah Fitzpatrick set to return
The Jets did get one piece of good news. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who has been dealing with a groin injury since early in the season opener, was a full participant Thursday and Friday and is listed as available. Coach Aaron Glenn said this week there was “a really good chance he’ll be out there playing this weekend.” Our earlier look at Fitzpatrick’s injury timeline has more background.
Tight end Jeremy Ruckert (knee) was limited Wednesday and Thursday, practiced fully Friday and is available. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq (back) and edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare (knee) are questionable.
What’s next for the Jets
With Breece Hall ruled out, the Jets (1-2) face the Bears (2-1) at 1 p.m. EDT on FOX. Chicago will be without quarterback Caleb Williams, who has a hamstring injury and was ruled out by the team. Check our Jets-Bears preview for the matchup breakdown.
