Arizona Fall League rosters gain 3 more stars, pushing Top 100 prospects count to 15

Arizona Fall League rosters picked up three more Top 100 prospects Monday, Sept. 28, when Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott, Phillies infielder Aidan Miller and Royals outfielder Angeibel Gomez were added to the Surprise Saguaros, MLB.com reported. The moves push the league’s total to 15 Top 100 prospects, tied for the most since 2023.

The six-team league opens its season Saturday, Oct. 3, and runs through the championship game Nov. 14 at Peoria Sports Complex, according to MLB.

Walcott tops the Arizona Fall League rosters

Walcott, MLB Pipeline’s No. 9 overall prospect and the Rangers’ top-ranked prospect, is now the highest-ranked player on any of the Arizona Fall League rosters. That moves Dodgers outfielder Eduardo Quintero (No. 18) to second, per MLB.com.

The 6-foot-4 shortstop from the Bahamas carries 65-grade power, and MLB.com projects he could eventually hit 40 homers. His plus-plus arm gives him a chance to stay at shortstop.

This is Walcott’s second straight trip to the Fall League. Arm fatigue ended his 2025 stint after one game, and he later had internal brace surgery to repair a torn elbow ligament. He returned in mid-July and played 44 games, postseason included, with five at shortstop and the rest at designated hitter, MLB.com reported.

Miller and Gomez bring different stories

Miller, the No. 58 prospect, was named to the Arizona Fall League rosters a year ago, too, before an injury forced him out. A back problem then limited the 2023 first-round pick to eight games this year, four of them in the postseason, according to MLB.com.

The 22-year-old has played only shortstop as a pro but played third base in high school. He’ll focus on third with the Saguaros, where MLB.com expects his plus arm to stand out. He had shown a better approach at the plate before the back injury.

Gomez, the No. 81 prospect, is coming off a breakout debut. Kansas City signed the 6-foot-2 center fielder for $2.9 million as the No. 4 prospect in this year’s international class.

He posted a 1.119 OPS in 47 games in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League, third best in the league, and drew 28 walks against 19 strikeouts. He has 70-grade speed and could add plus power as he matures. At 17, he will be the second-youngest player in Fall League history, behind Michael De Leon in 2014, per MLB.com.

Scottsdale adds Jett Williams

Milwaukee also added talent to the Arizona Fall League rosters. The Scottsdale Scorpions picked up Brewers infielder/outfielder Jett Williams, Milwaukee’s No. 10 prospect. Williams, a 2022 first-round pick, dealt with quad and wrist injuries this year.

He began the season in the Top 100 but struggled at the plate in his first year with Milwaukee after coming over in the Freddy Peralta trade. He still has 65-grade speed, MLB.com noted.
