Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Anton Harrison will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee when the team returns from London next week. The procedure follows a knee injury Harrison suffered during Jacksonville’s 19-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday.
Harrison was hurt while blocking on a running play, a sweep to the right by running back Bhayshul Tuten. He grabbed his right knee after disengaging from the block, went down on the field and was eventually carted off.
Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said Harrison underwent an MRI on Monday. The team has not disclosed the specific findings.
What The Team Has Said About Harrison’s Injury
The Jaguars have not yet determined the severity of the injury, according to ESPN. Depending on what surgeons find once they operate, Harrison could miss anywhere from three to five weeks or the remainder of the regular season. No further diagnostic details have been released.
Who Replaces Harrison At Left Tackle
Walker Little entered the game after Harrison went down and is expected to start at left tackle while Harrison recovers. The Jaguars have not released additional information on how long Little will hold the starting job, which will likely depend on the outcome of Harrison’s surgery.
Harrison’s Role This Season
Harrison, the 27th overall pick in 2023, was moved from right tackle to left tackle during training camp. He had missed just three games at right tackle in his first three seasons. Jacksonville picked up Harrison’s fifth-year option in April.
What’s Next For The Jaguars
The Jaguars (4-1) play Houston (1-4) on Sunday at Wembley Stadium and are scheduled to fly back to Jacksonville after the game.
