Buffalo Bills Sign Former Chargers Receiver To 3-Year Deal

Buffalo Bills sign Josh Palmer

The Buffalo Bills have been so close to the Super Bowl for the past few years but can’t get over the hump. After another disappointing end to the season, the team is doing everything it can to get back to the championship game. They signed quarterback Josh Allen to a record-breaking extension and have re-signed some impact players. One of the areas the Bills need to address is the weapons for Allen. The team got him a solid receiver, former Los Angeles Chargers wideout Josh Palmer.

Buffalo Bills Sign WR Josh Palmer To Deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Buffalo Bills are bringing in the former Chargers receiver to boost the talent in the wide receiver room. It is a three-year, $36 million contract for the former third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Palmer has never had any eye-popping stats but has been a sure-handed receiver for Justin Herbert over the years. His best year was in 2022, when he caught 72 passes for 769 yards and three touchdowns.

The Buffalo Bills traded away Stefon Diggs last year, and the lack of quality weapons on offense was an issue. Allen had to do more running, and running back James Cook became more of a focal point in the offense. It worked great throughout the year, but the team is looking to make sure their MVP quarterback has plenty of weapons to work with.

Good Move For The Bills?

This is a quality move for the Buffalo Bills. It likely won’t be the reason they make the Super Bowl, but having a quality WR2 or WR3 is critical for any good team. The team has to hope former Florida State wideout, Keon Coleman, continues to develop. He showed promise last year but also had moments where he looked like a rookie still acclimating to the NFL.

The Buffalo Bills aren’t messing around in free agency. They have taken care of their players who deserve it but are also being aggressive in bringing in quality talent. The AFC East is slated to have much competition as the Jets, Patriots, and Dolphins all have massive questions heading into next season. Can the Bills finally get over the hump and make it back to the Super Bowl?
