Which MLB Teams Are Charging Fans the Most In 2026?

A general view of the MLB logo

Depending on the MLB team and matchup, MLB’s ticket prices differ significantly. According to a new report by Doc’s Sports, a sports betting website, the researchers analyzed more than 2,400 MLB games and their minimum listed ticket prices to identify which teams are charging fans the most during the 2026 season.

Across all 2,426 MLB games analyzed, the average minimum ticket price is $34.82. In contrast, the average median ticket price is $29.00. Therefore, the difference displays a super small number of very expensive games that help push MLB’s average into a higher tier.

MLB’s Highest Ticket Prices

More often than not, MLB’s ticket price differences don’t differ too much. Multiple teams stay in a premium-priced tier, regardless of where they play. Other squads have the power to significantly improve an MLB team’s season-long average with a star-studded series.

Here are the league’s most expensive home teams, based on the average minimum price. The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the pack at $76.57. The Boston Red Sox trail at $63.31. The Athletics, San Francisco Giants, and Philadelphia Phillies completed the top five at $58.32, $47.85, and $46.14, respectively.

The Dodgers sat comfortably above the other most expensive home teams, which suggests a sustained premium demand throughout the league’s regular season schedule as opposed to a handful of marquee matchups.

The Red Sox, Giants, Phillies, and Chicago Cubs leaned toward a traditional major attraction description. The Athletics cashed in on a few extremely expensive series that significantly shifted their total season average.

The Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Tampa Bay Rays rounded out the top ten with higher ticket prices, specifically at $44.79, $42.63, $40.04, $38.80, and $37.21, respectively.

MLB’s Lowest Ticket Prices

In contrast, MLB’s lowest ticket prices prove the frequent affordability of the league’s games to individuals, families, and groups looking to attend home games in person at the ballpark.

Here are the league’s cheapest home teams, based on the average minimum price. The Los Angeles Angels led the low-end group with the lowest ticket price at $16.02. The Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals completed the top five at $17.72, $18.73, $22.30, and $22.52, respectively.

Furthermore, the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, and Washington Nationals rounded out the top ten at $22.67, $24.01, $25.31, $25.48, and $26.58, respectively.

The Angels, Marlins, and White Sox created a clear budget tier in terms of ticket prices. The Reds, Cardinals, Royals, Brewers, Tigers, Rockies, and Nationals formed a cluster in the low to high $20 budget range that represents a noticeably lower-cost tier compared to the league’s biggest markets like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston.

MLB Ticket Prices As a Whole

MLB’s ticket price difference among the league’s teams is noticeable. The “Freeway Series” between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels is separated by Interstate 5, but Dodgers game tickets average nearly five times more than the Angels’.

The ticket price difference is just one of several examples that clearly show how wide the pricing gap can be across the league’s markets. The Doc’s Sports research study also revealed that some visiting teams dramatically raised their ticket prices. For example, New York Yankees games average at $64.65, and Dodgers games average at $62.51 for the host team’s minimum ticket price. Thus, the two teams are two of the biggest road draws whenever they come to town.

In addition, Doc’s Sports confirmed that regional rivalries, such as the Dodgers vs. Angels, San Francisco Giants vs. Athletics, Yankees vs. Mets, and Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox, show similar patterns.
