Lebron’s Market Heats Up as Rich Paul Confirms 10 to 12 Teams Have Reached Out
Rich Paul didn’t dance around it. Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, the Klutch Sports CEO made it clear that LeBron remains one of the league’s most sought-after players even at 41, heading into his age-42 season. Paul said 10 to 12 teams have already inquired about the possibility of landing the NBA’s all-time leading scorer if he doesn’t reach a new deal with the Lakers before free agency opens June 30.
Paul described the interest as incoming calls from every team with the excitement of possibly him playing for them, adding that the level of demand at this stage of LeBron’s career is admirable. He didn’t name specific teams, but the league’s rumor mill has been loud for weeks.
Why Teams Are Still Lining Up for Lebron

The interest isn’t complicated. LeBron is coming off his 22nd straight All-Star appearance and averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 60 games. He helped the Lakers secure the fourth seed in the West.
Even without hitting the 65-game threshold for All-NBA eligibility, he played at a level that still shifts playoff ceilings.
The Warriors Buzz Isn’t Going Away
One of the most persistent storylines is the possibility of James joining Stephen Curry in Golden State. The two won Olympic gold together in 2024, and the relationship between LeBron, Curry, Steve Kerr, and Draymond Green is well documented.
But the Warriors’ path is complicated. Their cleanest route would be the mid-level exception, roughly 15 million dollars, far below what James could command elsewhere. Anything more would require a sign-and-trade or a major roster shakeup. Golden State’s front office has flexibility, but not without cost.
Still, the idea won’t die because it makes sense in basketball. Curry’s gravity, Kerr’s system, and James playmaking would create one of the smartest, most fluid offenses the league has ever seen.
Other Teams Hovering Around the Edges
Cleveland has been floated as a sentimental option, but the Cavaliers’ cap sheet is heavy. Without major moves, they could only offer a veteran minimum.
There’s also speculation about Eastern Conference teams trying to lure LeBron back east, especially with several franchises reshuffling their cores. But Paul made it clear that none of the rumors mean anything until he and LeBron sit down and decide what’s next. There’s nobody that knows anything about anything that pertains to LeBron, Paul said. All these reports, nobody knows.
My Take: LeBron Should Choose the Warriors
If LeBron truly wants one more run at a championship not just a playoff berth, not just a farewell tour the Warriors are the cleanest basketball fit.
Golden State has the shooting, the spacing, and the organizational stability to maximize what LeBron still does at an elite level. Curry’s presence alone would give LeBron the easiest offensive environment he’s had since Miami. The Warriors also play with a level of structure and IQ that would allow him to conserve energy without sacrificing impact.
The league deserves to see LeBron and Curry on the same side for more than a summer. Their games complement each other in a way that feels inevitable, like a final chapter that hasn’t been written yet.
