Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) finds a seam

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has officially returned to the team and is participating in OTAs after being released from Brown County Jail last week. Jacobs was arrested on May 26 on five possible domestic‑abuse‑related charges, including felony strangulation or suffocation. He was released the following day after Brown County District Attorney David Lasee announced that no charging decision had been made yet. A final determination will come at a later date.

Despite the ongoing legal situation, LaFleur made it clear that Jacobs is being treated as an active member of the roster.

“I would say business as usual,” LaFleur said when asked about Jacobs’ involvement.

Jacobs Back in the Building and Practicing

Jacobs’ return means the Packers once again have their projected starting running back available during offseason workouts. His presence stabilizes a position group that has undergone changes in recent seasons and is expected to play a major role in Green Bay’s offensive identity.

Legal Process Still Ongoing

While Jacobs is practicing, the legal situation remains unresolved. The district attorney has not yet decided whether to file charges, and no timeline has been provided. Until then, Jacobs is permitted to participate fully in team activities.

What Jacobs’ Return Means for the Packers

Jacobs’ presence at OTAs allows the Packers to:

  • Integrate him into offseason installations
  • Maintain continuity at running back
  • Evaluate depth behind him, including Lloyd, Chris Brooks, and slew of other young backs.

LaFleur’s “business as usual” comment suggests the team is focused on football until further legal developments occur.
