Houston Rockets Center Alperen Sengun is putting together a historic regular season. He is averaging 19.3 points per game, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. Sengun is ninth in the league in rebounds. Sengun’s performance this season finds him in great company. He joined Nikola Jokic, Larry Bird, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only other fourth-year players to have those statistics. It also led to him being named an NBA All-Star for the first time earlier this season. Will Sengun be able to keep making history for a Houston Rockets team eyeing a deep playoff run?

Houston got off to a fast start this regular season but has struggled as of late. They are 7-10 over their last 17 games. Houston is firmly entrenched as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference. Houston’s offense has been poor this season. They are 17th in points per game, 25th in field goal percentage, and 25th in three-point percentage.
Houston’s defense has been the far stronger part of its team this season. They are sixth in points allowed, fifth in opposing field goal percentage, and eighth in opposing three-point percentage. Houston’s terrible offense and great defense give them a ceiling in the Western Conference Playoffs. The Rockets have no chance to advance past the second round this season.
Final Thoughts
Sengun and the Rockets return to the court tomorrow when the Orlando Magic come to town. Sengun will look to keep up his high level of play and continue making history. He is one of the best young players in the NBA and will look to add to his résumé over the final 20 games of the regular season.
