The Moment The New Day Was Done In WWE

The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) making entrance WWE

The New Day is one of WWE’s greatest tag team factions of all time. It was super stunning to most fans hearing that two original members, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, were let go from their contracts. When looking back on it, the New Day getting let go does not come as a surprise. There is one moment that was the beginning of the end.’

The Moment That Sealed The New Day Fate

Honestly, the New Day was done the moment the whole Odyssey Jones saga happened. Remember, the original plan when The New Day turned heel on Big E was to have Odyssey Jones replace him. Unfortunately, Odyssey Jones was released due to domestic violence allegations, and he was scrapped from the story. Thus, the heel turn happened without his involvement.

Look, the heel turn itself was great, but the heel run was absolutely terrible. It seems like WWE gave up on The New Day after that horrible title run. Then, a month later, WWE decided to put Grayson Waller as the 3rd man of their faction. That did not work either. Look, Waller is a great character, but just did not fit the group at all. It all began with the Odyssey Jones departure and they never recovered.

The moment Odyssey Jones got let go, not only did that doom The New Day’s heel run, but their tenure in WWE as well. Especially with how poorly the tag team division has been booked, both in the men’s and women’s divisions.

WWE Does Not Care About The Tag Team Division

As mentioned, WWE does not care about the tag team division. The women’s tag team division is worse, and they should burn the belts with how little they care. The only women’s tag team that feels like a legit one is Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Everyone else is just a throw-in for wrestlers that they have no plans for and need depth.

The men’s division is worse on that, too. Look at their current tag team in Damian Priest and R-Truth. Legit thrown together because the creative has no idea what to do with both men. R-Truth was only brought back as Damage Control after his release angered the fans. Damian Priest was jobbing to Aleister Black and was paired with Truth as WWE had no idea what to do with him. This company does not care about tag teams at all, and it’s sad.

Apparently TKO Lowballed Them Asking For Them To Take A Paycut

This is the most insane part of the story. Apparently, TKO tried to lowball The New Day by restructuring there deal. Think about that, with how much this company loves to brag about making money and setting records, they want to lowball one of the greatest tag teams in company history. That’s a slap in the face, and the moment that happened, both Kofi & Xavier decided they want out of their deals. It was granted, and they will be free agents in 90 days.

Good for Xavier and Kofi Kingston. They know what their value is, and with how disrespected they were, it’s hard not to blame them for wanting out. After all the loyalty they showed to Triple H and WWE, and this is how they are treated, is such a slap to the face.

Where The New Day Will Likely Go

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will easily find another place to work. AEW makes the most sense, especially with how hot that tag team division is. They would be perfect in that division, and the matches they will have will be crazy. Could they wrestle in TNA, MLW, CMLL, NJPW, or even the Independent Circuit? Absolutely, but AEW is their best landing spot.

No matter what, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will be fine wherever they go. My question now is, what’s gonna happen to the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel?
