College World Series, 1 June, Insane

There were several more upsets as the regional round in the College World Series ended on 1 June. There is no baseball until the Super Regionals begin this coming weekend. So, what happened?
The biggest story was Oklahoma beating the number two overall seed, Georgia Tech, 8-7. This game was a barn burner that went to 10 innings. Georgia Tech led this game 7-3 after 6 innings. However, Oklahoma scored two runs in the seventh, one run in the eighth, one run in the ninth, and one run in the 10th to win the game and advance to the Super Regional of the College World Series.
There were more upsets. The next biggest upset was Troy eliminating and crushing Florida 10-2. Troy advances to the Super Regionals. This was a 2-1 game after the fifth inning. Troy scored 5 runs in the sixth and added 3 runs in the eighth inning to win the game in a landslide.
St. John’s eliminated the number ten-seeded Florida State Seminoles from the College World Series, 5-4. This is the first time that the Redmen have advanced to the Super Regionals since 2012. Florida State scored two runs in the ninth inning to make the game seem closer than it really was. It is rare to have a cold-weather team from the north eliminate a warm-weather team from the South.
With all the chaos, two games held to form with the higher seeds winning, though one win took some extra time. First, Auburn defeated Milwaukee 8-3. Auburn scored first in this game and advanced to the Super Regionals, holding up their end of the bargain.
Finally, there was an extra-inning game in Morgantown. West Virginia beat Kentucky 6-5 in 10 innings. This nailbiter kept people up late. Kentucky, proving that every out matters in baseball, scored four runs in the eighth inning to tie the game at 5. However, West Virginia walked off in the tenth inning to advance to the Super Regionals.
