The Main Prospect The San Francisco 49ers Must Select In 2026 NFL Draft (April Fools Edition)
Welcome to April, 49ers fans. San Francisco has been such a weird drafting team because they nail their Day 2 and Day 3 picks for the most part. However, John Lynch has struggled in the first round draft-wise. This year will be different as they have prospects that many say are Day 2 or Day 3 prospects, allegedly. The 49ers got to think outside the box here, as the San Francisco 49ers will be on the clock.
The Biggest Team Need For The San Francisco 49ers
This one is interesting because there are two obvious needs here. The first is a doctor, especially with the whole electromagnetic fields conspiracy theory. They need a doctor to look into that and crush the theories so fans and players can shut up about it. Also, the doctor could provide immediate help when injuries happen with the 49ers.
The second need is on the offensive line, and they could use help in protecting Brock Purdy. Especially as they lost Spencer Burford and Ben Bartch via free agency. They really could use some more depth pieces on the offensive line. The 49ers got the perfect man to draft here.
With The 27th Pick In The 2026 NFL Draft, The 49ers Select – OL Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (McGill University)

The doctor will see the 49ers now. Dr Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is making a comeback in the NFL, and the 49ers are starting the opening bid by using a first-round pick to take him. The man provides a boost on and off the field.
He has experience playing in the National Football League with the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets. Duvernay-Tardif was a part of that Super Bowl LIV team and was a very underrated blocker. He would easily fit on the 49ers and is an immediate plug-in at guard.
The 49ers have been super upset since Super Bowl LIV happened. Apparently, there are rumors that the GM John Lynch was studying that game all night for months and realized they had no answers for Duvernay-Tardif, as the guy was a wrecking ball. Just sucks the Jets traded for him because if he was available, the 49ers were going to put an offer out for him.
The part where he will come in handy is if a player suffers an immediate injury on the team. This man is so brilliant at his craft as a doctor that he once diagnosed his own leg injury while in pain. With the known injury history of the 49ers roster, he will provide speed in diagnosis and help guide the medical staff to treat players faster. When he chooses to retire after his second tenure, we will hire him full-time to run the treatment for the team.
It Will Be An Amazing Comeback Story For A Uniquely Gifted Player
Laurent Duvernay-Tardif should get an award named after him because he is a very unique player on and off the field. His gift as a doctor helping out people is amazing, and when the NFL makes a Football Life documentary on him, it will be great. While he has not played a game in the NFL since 2022, he can easily shake off the rust and play as he did.
While I wish this would happen, as Duvernay-Tardif has had a great journey in the NFL, unfortunately, it won’t. This is all a joke. Happy April Fools, everybody. On a side note, I hope Duvernay-Tardif is doing okay today and helping people out in the medical world.
