The Main Prospect The New England Patriots Must Select In 2026 NFL Draft (April Fools Edition)

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft introduces the team's number one draft pick on the game field at Gillette Stadium.

The New England Patriots had a strong season and represented the AFC in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t get past that “Dark Side” Seahawks defense. The Patriots need to look in the mirror and face the facts. Luckily, the month of April is here, and the 2026 NFL Draft is almost here.

There are certain names these scam mock drafters and analysts have projecting, but it’s best not to listen. The New England Patriots are on the clock, and they got their main prospect.

The Biggest Team Need For The New England Patriots

If there was one reason that the Patriots lost that Super Bowl game against the Seahawks, it was due to poor QB play. Drake Maye was absolutely terrible, and the throws he was making had the franchise scared for the future. He was horrific in this game, especially in the first half. In the first half of the Super Bowl, he threw 6 of 11 passes for 48 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

The second half wasn’t great either, as he threw two awful interceptions. My goodness, he became so predictable that Julian Love would brag about it on the sidelines with other players. This is unacceptable from Maye, and it’s clear he is not the guy after that game. With Josh Dobbs released, the Patriots could use a backup. Yes, Tommy DeVito is the backup, but let’s be real guy is a scrub. The QB position is the top need for the Patriots.

With The 31st Pick In The 2026 NFL Draft, The New England Patriots Select – QB Taylen Green (Arkansas)

The Patriots need to abandon ship quickly as they should have with Mac Jones. Although good old Bill Belichick ruined him with the horrendous coordinators paired with Jones. Mike Vrabel is brilliant and he can develop another QB for us. That man is Taylen Green from Arkansas.

He has a lot of great qualities that you want in a quarterback prospect. The standout skill is his athleticism. This man at the combine put himself on the map with the number of records he broke. Green has got a ton of speed through, and that 4.39-second 40-yard dash woke people up. Heck, Aaron Glenn stopped sleeping after the run; that’s how electric he was. The vertical and broad jumps showed he is willing to make unique throws to get the 1st down.

Green has the arm talent to make it work in the NFL, and he reminds Patriots fans of Terrelle Pryor. He didn’t work in the NFL due to being drafted by the Raiders, but Green going to a real franchise will help his development.

Now he needs to work on his Football IQ as he makes some silly throws at times. He has to be trained better on his instincts and IQ, as the talent is there, but the decision-making on the field has to improve. With some good coaching, he will dominate the league. If he can lead, though will be the key thing to keep an eye for.

Taylor Green Will Get Us A Brian Flores Pitcher QB Tactic

Drafting Green, that provides the team with another piece to get the team to the next level. A smart play would be to do what Brian Flores did with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tua Tagovailoa. Taylen Green will start games, get to a strong start, and Drake Maye will be the reliever for the team.

This type of move will get the Boston Red Sox to take notes on how to utilize their pitching core. One of those notes is titled, Happy April Fools Day. That’s right, this whole article is a whole joke honoring the most hilarious time of the year.
