Eagles Sign Jordan Davis to 3-Year Contract Extension

Eagles' Jordan Davis vs the 49ers in the Wild Card round.

On Saturday Afternoon, the first big Philadelphia Eagles offseason domino has fallen, which is getting an extension done on defensive tackle Jordan Davis. He and the Eagles agreed to a three-year extension to his rookie deal, which ties him to the franchise for over the next four seasons.

Davis was about to enter his fifth-year option year, which would’ve put his salary at $12.938M for next season. He was coming off his best season as an Eagle with 4.5 sacks and 34 solo tackles, along with a couple of field goal blocks as well. His run defense was also crucial, as he’s become one of the better run defenders in the league. Let’s dive into what this means for Philadelphia moving forward.

What Happened

The Eagles and Davis agreed to a 3-year, $78 million contract extension with $65M guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The timing was a crucial element of this new deal for the former Georgia Bulldog, as Eagles GM Howie Roseman is starting to plot out his offseason moves, and getting his done was a crucial element to keeping him and Jalen Carter together as a defensive tackle duo for years to come. This contract means he’s now the highest-paid NT in NFL history, and his APY is at $26M.

Social Media Reactions

Most Philly fans are ecstatic and excited that he is resigning with the Birds, as I am, as he was definitely one of the Eagles’ best players in 2025 after his breakout season. This is a great sign of confidence that his trend of play will continue to improve as the years go on, which is why he is getting this kind of money for his position. What’s Next For Eagles After Davis Extension

Now the Eagles’ front office, led by Howie Roseman, is going to go into the new league year possibly with more cap room and try to turn around a season of disappointment after Super Bowl LIX and rebuild this contender that Eagles fans like myself know that this team can be heading into 2026. Getting the nose tackle’s deal done was a big piece to that puzzle. Now it’s time to maybe get Jaelan Phillips done next, Howie?!
