Cop Who Pulled Over Tyreek Hill Celebrated His Release On Social Media
Tyreek Hill was pulled over by Miami-Dade police in early September 2024, just hours before the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The stop escalated after Hill interacted with officers, leading to him being forced from his car and handcuffed, with video footage going viral on social media.
Recently, the officer who handcuffed Hill, Danny Torres, shared his thoughts on Hill’s release on Facebook and celebrated it. The Dolphins parted ways with the five-time All-Pro wideout on Monday as they look to revamp their entire roster.
Cop Goes At Tyreek Hill
Danny Torres, the now-retired and former Miami-Dade police officer, celebrated Hill’s release on Facebook.
“Hmmm… I guess it took a bit, but Karma got you. Now that I am retired, I can tell you how I feel about you. You’re an entitled A****** and an embarrassment to the team and city that kissed your a**. I wish you the best and hope you can afford ALL that child support, especially now that you’re unemployed. But I’m sure someone will pick you up, and you will cause havoc on their team and in their city. Just how you did in Miami.”
Even though the situation was later resolved, Torres still holds a grudge against Tyreek Hill. After posting on Social Media, Torres shared more information with the Miami New Times. He reportedly told the publication he 100 percent stood by his social media post, and that he felt he was pretty much crucified. for doing his job in the outcry that came from how Hill was treated in the traffic stop.
It’s A New Era For Tyreek Hill
After being let go by the Dolphins, Tyreek Hill is free to sign anywhere he wants. He posted on social media that he’s back in Kansas City and was working out there yesterday. With the Chiefs looking to retool their roster after a disappointing season in which they missed the playoffs, Hill would add to a thin receiving core. He would join Kansas City to try and win yet another Super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
If he doesn’t end up with the Chiefs, he will have a wide variety of teams to choose from. His season was cut short due to a torn ACL he suffered in Week 4 against the New York Jets. The goal is to be ready for the start of the 2026 season, but his timetable for return is still unknown. Despite the injury concerns, he is absolutely worth taking a chance on for any team that’s in need of another receiver.
The Dolphins Have A Ton Of Work To Do
Jon-Eric Sullivan has a lot of work to do in his first offseason as General Manager. He’ll have to work around many obstacles, especially if they end up taking on a historic amount of dead cap if they were to release Tua Tagovailoa. If he wants to turn the team around quickly, he’ll have to hit on a lot of draft picks, and that starts with the 11th overall pick in the upcoming draft.
The biggest hurdle will be Tua Tagovailoa. Miami is expected to part ways with him this offseason, but it’s unclear whether it will come via release or trade. If they do release Tua, they’ll take on a historic cap hit and will be very limited in what they can do in free agency. Regardless, it’ll be fun to watch what the Dolphins roster will look like next season, as they’ve been in desperate need of change.
With Hill gone, the message has been sent that no one on the roster is safe, and Minkah Fitzpatrick could be the next player shipped off. Miami has a long way to go as they enter another rebuild. In a new era led by Jeff Hafley, the Dolphins will look to wash out the bad taste left by the old regime led by Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier.
