Moses Moody Leaves Game with Massive Non-Contact Injury

Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody (4) reacts after hitting a three-point shot against the Charlotte Hornets during the fourth quarter at Chase Center.

Moses Moody was making his return to the Golden State Warriors after missing the previous 10 games with a wrist sprain. However, it appears he could miss significant time after suffering a non-contact injury in Monday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. Let’s take a closer look at what happened and what it means going forward.

Moses Moody injury: What happened to the Golden State Warriors player?

The Golden State Warriors have been dealing with the injury bug this season and it appears they lost another player for an extended period of time. In their 137-131 road overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks, Moses Moody was on the fast break after a steal and went to jump. However, Moses Moody’s knee buckled, and he went down holding his knee.

The broadcast showed his knee, and it looked like something was wrong right away. Moody would not stand up and would be stretchered off the court. As of this writing, there is no update on what the injury is. However, it will be surprising to see him back on the court anytime soon.

The Warriors have been dealing with injuries throughout the season, as Stephen Curry is currently out while players like Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL earlier this season. Moody has been playing well this season as he is averaging 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game. His shooting has been the biggest asset as he is shooting 40.2% from beyond the arc.

The Warriors are currently 10th in the Western Conference, being all but mathematically in the play-in tournament. However, they are competing with the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers for seeding. Golden State is going to be testing their depth, but getting Curry back will definitely help.

Moody’s injury is going to be something to keep an eye on as he was a scoring threat for the team in the backcourt. Golden State is going to have a difficult time replacing his shooting with only 10 games remaining. It will be intriguing to see what Moody’s injury is and how long until we see him back on the court.
