Team USA Roster

Team USA features a collection of accomplished players from MLB, most notably three-time MVP Outfielder Aaron Judge of the Yankees, Mariners Catcher Cal Raleigh, who is coming off a 2025 season in which he had 60 home runs, and reigning Cy Young Award winners Paul Skenes of the Pirates and Tarik Skubal of the Tigers.

Here Is How the Full Roster Breaks Down

Pitchers: David Bednar (NYY), Matthew Boyd (CHC), Garrett Cleavinger (TB), Clay Holmes (NYM), Griffin Jax (TB), Brad Keller (PHI), Clayton Kershaw, Nolan McLean (NYM), Mason Miller (SD), Paul Skenes (PIT), Tarik Skubal (DET), Gabe Speier (SEA), Michael Wacha (KC), Logan Webb (SF), Garrett Whitlock (BOS), Ryan Yarbrough (NYY).

Kershaw retired from MLB after winning his second World Series title last season. At 37 years old, Kershaw is the oldest member of Team USA. Ryan Yarbrough is the newest member of Team USA after being added to the roster on Sunday.

Catchers: Cal Raleigh (SEA), Will Smith (LAD)

Raleigh finished second in AL MVP voting last season.

Infielders: Alex Bregman (CHC), Ernie Clement (TOR), Paul Goldschmidt (NYY), Bryce Harper (PHI), Gunnar Henderson (BAL), Brice Turang (MIL), Bobby Witt Jr. (KC)

Goldschmidt, who is the oldest on the roster at 38 years old, is the lone player from the 2017 team that won the WBC. The infielders hold a combined three MVP awards (two from Harper, one from Goldschmidt).

Outfielders: Roman Anthony (BOS), Byron Buxton (MIN), Pete Crow-Armstrong (CHC), Aaron Judge (NYY).

At 21 years old, Anthony is the youngest member of Team USA. Aside from Anthony, who was limited to 71 games, every outfielder on this roster belted at least 30 home runs during the 2025 MLB season.

Designated hitter: Kyle Schwarber (PHI)

Schwarber is coming off a 2025 season in which he had career highs in home runs (56) and RBI (132).

Managers/Coaches: Mark DeRosa (manager), Michael Young (bench coach), Fredi Gonzalez (assistant coach), Brian McCann (assistant coach), Sean Casey (hitting coach), Matt Holliday (hitting coach), Andy Pettitte (pitching coach), George Lombard (first base coach), Dino Ebel (third base coach), David Ross (bullpen coach).

Team USA Injuries

  1. Diamondbacks Outfielder Corbin Carroll was replaced by Anthony last month due to a broken hand he suffered early last month.
  2. Ryan is dealing with back inflammation and will miss pool play, but could rejoin the team should the U.S. advance to the knockout stages. Yarbrough is Ryan’s replacement.
  3. McLean’s arrival to Team USA was delayed due to vertigo-like symptoms, but the team expects him to start its third game of pool play against Italy on March 10.

Team USA has a formidable roster that can certainly help avenge its 2023 team. It boasts a high-quality blend of experienced veterans and emerging MLB talent. Defending-champion Japan will be tough to defeat, with players like Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto on its roster, but the U.S. is much better equipped to compete this year than three years ago.
