Renato Moicano Aims for Redemption in UFC Fight Night Main Event

Renato Moicano will make his comeback on April 4, where he will be in the main event of a UFC Fight Night against Chris Duncan in the UFC Apex. Although being the headliner is still a significant role, this bout marks a shift in visibility compared to Moicano’s recent appearances on larger stages.

The emphasis is once again on fighting

Renato Moicano had been competing on the highest level in his past outings. He entered into a last-minute main event at UFC 311 against Islam Makhachev after Arman Tsarukyan pulled out because of an injury. He subsequently appeared on the headline of UFC 317 against Beneil Dariush. Nevertheless, the two fights ended in defeat, leaving the Brazilian lightweight eager to regain momentum

However, even with the losses in the Octagon, Renato Moicano has increased his profile outside of it, especially by engaging in the role of content creator. Being active on social media and YouTube has sparked different rumors about his losses in recent times.

Moicano was able to address these issues during media day and admitted that the last year was hard. He said that he consciously tried to refocus on his fighting career after losing in 2025. Although fans saw him being active on social media a bit, he stressed that minimizing distractions enabled him to take his training camp more seriously and with focus.

Moicano also talked about his previously scheduled fight in the octagon against Brian Ortega, noting that the experience further reinforced his commitment to improving his performances moving forward.

This bout also marks Renato Moicano’s first appearance under the promotion’s new broadcasting era, where fighters have the opportunity to earn a $100,000 bonus. Although the financial factor is huge, Moicano clarified that winning a match is his main priority.

He stated that while the bonus would be a welcome reward, for him, it is not his priority. Instead, his main objective is to return to a winning streak after a difficult stretch. He emphasized that losses are difficult to accept, whereas victories bring a sense of fulfillment that he is eager to experience again, especially in a main event setting.

Respectful but Determined Against Chris Duncan

Chris Duncan is standing in the way of Moicano, as he is a hard fighter, and he has won his last four fights. This makes the fight more interesting because Moicano and Chris Duncan both have ties to American Top Team. However, he said that they have not trained together recently. Renato Moicano shows respect to his opponent; he thinks Chris Duncan’s performance in his recent fights was quite inspiring. Moicano does not think this fight will be easy; he knows that the fighters in the UFC are quite competitive. He is confident to show good performance against his opponent, while he clarifies that he does not have any personal feud with Chris.
