Matt Riddle Claims WWE Producers “Fear” Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar Staring At John Cena At WrestlePalooza 2025

WWE finds itself back in the headlines after former superstar Matt Riddle alleged that producers backstage “fear” Brock Lesnar. The claim surfaced from Matt Riddle who recounted a tense moment at the 2022 Royal Rumble production meeting. His comments have sparked fresh debate about Brock giving fear to other producers.

What Matt Riddle Said About Brock

On the Rewind, Recap, Relive podcast in February 2025, Riddle described a specific incident from the 2022 Royal Rumble. According to Riddle, Lesnar walked into the final production meeting “heated” after a physical match earlier in the card. Through the podcast, Riddle claims that the atmosphere was filled with fear when Brock was in the room.

Lesnar’s Backstage Reputation

Brock Lesnar’s intimidating presence isn’t just kayfabe. Brock is a legit beast when looking at his combat sports background. Weather its in UFC, Amateur Wrestling or Pro Wrestling, this guy just dominates everywhere he goes. Just don’t mention his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings as that was an absolute disaster.

That’s not even getting into the stories of confrontations and heated exchanges that he had behind the scenes. He does have a reputation of being very tense in and out of the ring. At least his reputation is a bit better than Matt Riddle’s.

Why You Can’t Trust Matt Riddle Statements

Now Look its believable because Brock is a very scary guy, but its Matt Riddle. Its hard to believe anything that comes out of his mouth with his drug/personal issues. That’s not even getting into the insane things this man has said since being released from WWE. I mean these stories he tells are Marty Jannetty level of crazy.

Also, let’s be real Matt Riddle clearly still has heat with Brock Lesnar. They never got along backstage, and Brock refused to work with him. Hard to blame Lesnar on that one, knowing how Riddle is untrustworthy. So, is what Riddle is saying believable? Maybe, but again, when you lie and say way too many insane stories, it’s hard to take what you say as the truth. That’s why I never trusted Hulk Hogan anytime he said an insane lie.

Has WWE Responded?

As of this writing, WWE has not issued a public statement. They probably never will because they never released anything regarding his involvement in the JaNel Grant case. It remains an allegation even if the source is untrustworthy. If more come out and it’s hard to believe that many will speak up about it, maybe WWE might talk to Brock, but that’s a long shot.

Wrestling media has amplified the story, noting both the plausibility of Riddle’s account given Lesnar’s history and the limitations of a single-source anecdote. Fans and commentators continue to debate whether this is a genuine workplace concern or another chapter in wrestling’s long tradition of backstage mythology.

What Happens Next For Brock Lesnar

Expect wrestling journalists to dig deeper on it, but again with the source being Matt Riddle its likely just going to be gossip. For Brock Lesnar, this probably won’t affect his booking in any meaningful way. After all his booking has been terrible since he returned at SummerSlam 2025. What a great move wasting one of Cena’s final matches on that Wrestlepalooza show against Brock.

The Questions That Remain With Brock Lesnar

To end this piece there a few questions that need to be asked. Should talent ever make producers fear doing there jobs? Is this WWE fault or Brock Lesnar’s? Is this done for a kayfabe reason or is it actually Brock showcasing his toughness? Do you believe Matt Riddle? Well, its hard to answer these questions excluding the Riddle one, because that is a big NO.
