Arman Tsarukyan Fires Back At Ilia Topuria As Rivalry Intensifies

The rivalry between UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria and top contender Arman Tsarukyan has taken another sharp turn, with Tsarukyan responding strongly to recent criticism from the champion. What started as competition in terms of positions and title opportunities has now turned into one of the most heated personal feuds within the division.

In a recent interview, Topuria questioned Tsarukyan’s actions outside the cage, criticizing several incidents that have kept the contender in the headlines. He has already been engaged in fights with fans, violent face-offs, and riots at public events, which contributed to his scandalous image. The champion allegedly said that Arman was immature and reckless, also suggesting he benefits from family wealth rather than earning respect through discipline.

Tsarukyan Says Topuria Is Green-Eyed

In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Tsarukyan denied the accusations and alleged that Topuria was jealous, and this was his reason to comment. He said that Topuria is trying to make him look like he does not deserve a title shot and is inferior to him. Tsarukyan remarked that the champion will frequently applaud other prominent champions like Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Max Holloway, but will not do the same to him.

According to Tsarukyan, the selective praise shows the champion does not want fans to view him as a serious threat. He argued that if Ilia Topuria truly believed he was not dangerous, there would be no reason to avoid speaking about him.

Questions Over Respect and Explanation

Tsarukyan also criticized the nature of Topuria’s insults, saying personal attacks should come with clear reasons rather than empty words. He explained that in his culture, if someone insults another person, they should be able to explain exactly why. Arman suggested that Topuria had labeled him negatively without giving any meaningful justification.

For Arman, that made the criticism look weak rather than damaging. He insisted that making accusations without substance says more about the person delivering them than the target receiving them.

Future Fight Could Decide Everything

Topuria is currently scheduled to headline the UFC White House event on June 14 against former interim titleholder Justin Gaethje. The champion has confidently stated that if he ever fights Tsarukyan, he would break his jaw in the opening round.

Tsarukyan welcomed those comments and challenged Topuria to prove them inside the cage. He responded by saying Topuria should simply sign the contract after facing Gaethje if he is truly that confident. Tsarukyan added that if he is supposedly an easy opponent, there would be no reason for the champion to move divisions or avoid the matchup. The contender also insisted that he can take down anyone in the lightweight division, rejecting any suggestion that Topuria would be able to dominate him easily.

Beyond the fighting talk, Tsarukyan claimed Topuria was acting untouchable because of his popularity and growing fan base. He admitted that the champion has his fans, but he claimed that fame has transformed his attitude. Tsarukyan vowed to get Topuria back to the ground and to remind him that no fighter is above competition. The comments indicate that this feud has gone beyond rankings and title positioning to a personal battle for respect.

Light Division Monitoring Closely

The UFC lightweight is one of the most competitive and deepest sponsorships in the sport, hence each rivalry is important. Provided that Topuria conquers Gaethje, there will be pressure to have a showdown with Tsarukyan.

For now, both men continue trading verbal shots while fans wait to see whether the hostility leads to an official booking. Should the fight come together, the anticipation surrounding it may rival the intensity of the matchup itself.
