Veteran PGA Tour golfer Tommy Fleetwood will be without his veteran caddie Ian Finnis at the 2024 Masters when it gets underway on Thursday. Finnis will sit this tournament out as he recovers from a chest infection. Fleetwood turns to veteran looper Gray Moore this year at Augusta National. The Englishman spoke on the absence of his caddie earlier this week:
“Yeah, he’s not been well all year. At the moment he’s at home trying to recover and get the right treatment. Hopefully, he’ll be back out sooner rather than later. Yeah, it’s definitely different being without him. Like we’ve been together every tournament for the last eight years pretty much.”
Moore began working at Augusta National in 1996 and is nicknamed “Mr. Augusta.” He has also previously caddied for Fleetwood during practice rounds before the tournament.
Will this be the week that Fleetwood finally breaks through on the PGA Tour?

Tommy Fleetwood PGA Tour History
Fleetwood has been one of the most consistent players on the tour for years but is still in search of his first PGA Tour win. Fleetwood has seven wins on the DP World (European) Tour. His most recent victory was the 2024 Dubai Invitational earlier this year when he bested a leaderboard full of PGA tour players including Rory Mcilroy.
Fleetwood comes into Augusta National with his best finish of the season (T-7) last week at the Valero Texas Open. He hopes to parlay that into a high finish this week at the 2024 Masters.
Fleetwood looks to shoot his first under-par opening round at Augusta National since 2020.
Fleetwood gets his championship underway at 2:00 PM EDT tomorrow alongside 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson and 2020 PGA champion and 2021 Open Champion winner Collin Morikawa.
The 2024 Masters will take place from April 11-April 14 with all 89 players in search of a “Green Jacket.”
