New York Knicks Superstar Fractures Hand In Game 7 Against The Pacers

New York Knicks Jalen Brunson

The New York Knicks just suffered another devastating injury as Jalen Brunson was just reported to have suffered a fractured hand in Game 7 vs the Indiana Pacers.

Brunson appeared to injure his hand late in the 3rd quarter while attempting to slow down Tyrese Haliburton on a fast break. Brunson swiped for the ball with his left hand and made direct contact with Haliburton’s knee while he was going up for a layup.

Brunson has been banged up all series long but has been able to battle through it. This broken hand ended his game 7 and the season as the Knicks fell to the Pacers at Madison Square Garden Sunday afternoon 130-109.

Huge Disappointment for Brunson

Jalen Brunson had a break out 2023-24 season and was balling out all playoffs with multiple 40 point performances. Brunson has been the leader of the Knicks all year, and it sucked not to see him be able to play in the 4th quarter to keep the season alive.

Even if the Knicks rallied for a 4th quarter comeback to advance to the conference finals, it would be highly unlikely he would have been able to see the court at all for the rest of the playoffs. Now the offseason is here for the New York Knicks, so Brunson will be able to take all the time he needs to get healthy for next season. Hopefully this injury doesn’t turn out to be too much a set back for him.

Another New York Knicks Injury

The New York Knicks were absolutely ravaged with injuries going into this Game 7 versus the Pacers. The Knicks have been without starting forward Julius Randle since January with a shoulder injury.

Mitchell Robinson has been out with an ankle injury since game one versus Indiana. O.G. Anunoby has not been able to play since game two vs Indiana with a nagging hamstring injury. Now add in Jalen Brunson breaking his hand, and you have four key Knicks players out. It’s a huge bummer for it to end this way.

End of the Knicks Season

Knicks fans fell in love with the toughness and the fight of this team under head coach Tom Thibodeau. They never seemed to have the most talent, but they found a way to win games, and were one game away from a conference finals appearance.

The future is still bright for the New York Knicks if they can heal up and reload for next year.
