Wrestling is one of a kind when it comes to showing off skillsets for the fans. One type of skillset that has caught the attention of hardcore fans is technical wrestling. All-time great Bryan Danielson is an excellent example of how technical wrestling is displayed in a cool way.
Bryan Danielson’s Start in Wrestling
He started off in the Indies as a prospect. It wasn’t in front of multiple people like when he was in the big leagues, but it is always the small steps to get to bigger steps in the wrestling industry. Ring of Honor is one of the companies where Bryan Danielson got his foot in the door to wrestling stardom with high-stakes rivalries with Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and Seth Rollins.
Danielson’s signing with World Wrestling Entertainment
Later on, he signed with World Wrestling Entertainment through NXT, before NXT became a global phenomenon. One of his mentors was The Miz as they later established a rivalry in 2010. The following year, Bryan Danielson won the Money in the Bank briefcase and later cashed in on the Big Show at TLC 2011. This is where Danielson created his “YES” character, but it didn’t catch on until later. In 2012, he lost the championship to Sheamus at WrestleMania 28 in 28 seconds after giving AJ Lee a good luck kiss. Danielson and Lee broke up as a unit and he then set up a tag team with Kane, forming the team “Hell No”. The team won tag team gold and went defunct in 2013.
Bryan Danielson: YES Movement
At SummerSlam in 2013, Bryan Danielson became a household name in the WWE as he faced John Cena for the WWE Championship. Danielson won the title but was betrayed by Triple H, who was the referee for the match. Randy Orton cashed in the MITB briefcase on Bryan, becoming champion again. This is where Danielson formed a rivalry with the Authority, where he overcame the odds at WrestleMania 30 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Batista and Randy Orton in the Main Event. Danielson had the title for a bit, but sustained an injury in 2014, relinquishing the belt.
Danielson returned to action around early 2015 and won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31 before relinquishing the belt with another injury later on. According to Pro Wrestling | Fandom, Danielson had to announce retirement in the spring of 2016 but became general manager with Shane McMahon on SmackDown Live during the Brand Split. Bryan returned to action in early 2018 and teamed with McMahon to face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 34.
Bryan Danielson went on to defeat AJ Styles on an episode of SmackDown in November 2018 to win the WWE Championship, turning heel again. He went on to hold the title until WrestleMania 35, where Bryan had a classic bout with Kofi Kingston. Danielson still stayed with the company for 3 more years. His last rivalry was against Edge and Roman Reigns, where they had an epic triple threat for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. Roman went on to win the match and faced Bryan again, where he beat him and Danielson left the company.
Bryan Danielson’s current career in AEW
According to Puroresu System Wiki, Bryan currently resides with All Elite Wrestling, which he joined in the Fall of 2021. This is where he created rivalries with the likes of MJF, Kenny Omega, and Jon Moxley to name a few. Nonetheless, Bryan Danielson has made an impact on the wrestling world and it has sure enough gained everyone’s respect.
