The New York Knicks have been bitten by the injury bug. When healthy, this team has been one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. However, they cannot seem to get everyone on the court at the same time. One of their stars will not be returning at all this season. Forward Julius Randle will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery to repair his dislocated shoulder.

Julius Randle has been out since January due to an injury. The New York Knicks hoped he would be able to come back for the playoffs, but ultimately, the rest didn’t help. The former All-Star will miss the rest of the season to get his shoulder repaired. Adrian Wojnarowski said this in his initial report.
“But procedure became an increasing inevitability after recent visits to two specialists who warned of further injury and possible permanent damage to shoulder if he returned to play before a surgical procedure, sources said.”
This is a huge blow to the New York Knicks. While Julius Randle has his faults, he is an important part of that team. What makes it even more of a blow is the number of players who are injured on the roster.
New York Knicks Injuries
Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson are considered day-to-day. More than likely, the team will be cautious with them in the final handful of games to have them ready for the playoffs. The other big injury the New York Knicks are dealing with is OB Anunoby. They acquired him midseason, and he has been an excellent addition to the team. His elbow injury is lingering, and many wonder whether he will need season-ending surgery as well.
This happens every year to at least one team, and the New York Knicks are this year’s version. One team gets ravaged by injuries, which hampers their season. Hopefully, Julius Randle can recover and be ready for the next season.
