Noah Fant officially remains a Seattle Seahawk. The veteran tight end signed a new two-year, $21 million deal with the team, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schulz. The agreement was much needed for the Seahawks, as they lost Will Dissly earlier in the day to the Chargers.
Noah Fant Career Summary
Fant hasn’t quite lived up to his first-round draft status, but he’s still been a valuable target over the years.

Before coming into the NFL, Noah Fant was a dominant force on the Iowa Hawkeyes. In 2017, he tied the national record for single-season touchdown grabs by a tight end, with 11. “The Painter” garnered third-team All-American honors as a result.
The Denver Broncos then selected him 10th overall in the 2019 draft. Fant played three seasons with the club, averaging 56.7 catches, 635 yards, and 3.3 touchdowns per year. On March 16, 2022, he was then dealt to Seattle as part of a package for quarterback Russell Wilson. Since then, he’s accrued 69 receptions, 767 yards, and four touchdowns across 28 games.
Noah Fant’s Utilization
Fant has only been targeted 82 times in his two seasons as a Seahawk. This is a mild surprise, as he registered back-to-back 90-target seasons in Denver before the trade. While he missed six games last year, one of the main reasons his numbers have been down is because Seattle hasn’t utilized him enough in the passing game. With the team ranking 21st in yards per game in 2023, look for the offensive coaching staff to feature Fant more going forward in order to add another dimension to the aerial attack.
Seattle Seahawks Outlook
With Noah Fant’s re-signing, the Seahawks will now be able to focus on more pressing needs. The defense is a major sticking point, ranking 30th in yards allowed last year. It doesn’t help that linebacker Jordyn Brooks jumped ship to Miami today. However, the organization was able to retain defensive lineman Leonard Williams, which was a top priority.
While quarterback Geno Smith has been a decent stopgap option, he’s hardly the franchise’s end game at the position. New head coach Mike MacDonald has his work cut out for him on both sides of the ball, but Fant’s re-signing crosses out one item on the team’s lengthy to-do list.
