The Seattle Seahawks’ 2023 season was their 48th season in the National Football League. They were able to match their 2022 record of 9-8, yet that wasn’t quite good enough for the Seahawks to make it to the playoffs. Their season finished with them falling into the third-place slot in the division. This was the second time within the last three seasons that Seattle missed the playoffs in total.
2023 Seahawks Injury Report
The Seattle Seahawks were plagued with injuries left and right this season. They lost four games due to some of their key players suffering injuries. Quarterback Geno Smith acquired a groin injury, which made him miss out on two games. Seahawks’ cornerback Devon Witherspoon missed two games as well this season after succumbing to his hip pointer injury. DK Metcalf, the Seahawks’ Wide Receiver, was out for only one game with hip and rib injuries. Metcalf’ has only missed one game during his entire five-year career playing in the NFL.
Seahawks’ 2023 Season For DK Metcalf
Wide Receiver DK Metcalf is off to a more than good start to his career in the NFL. This season, he made eight touchdowns and accomplished his third season in five years with 1,000 yards. Metcalf was able to set a franchise record in 2020 with 1,303 yards. Within his five-season career in the league, he’s had a record of 372 receptions and 5,332 receiving yards.
Seahawks NFL History
They won three conference championships and 11 division titles. Seattle Seahawks is the only team to play in championship games for the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). They were able to reach three Super Bowls where they lost two of them and won over the Denver Broncos with 43-8 at Super Bowl XLVIII.
Seahawks In Need Of Massive Improvement!
Overall, the Seattle Seahawks’ 2023 season was disappointingly lackluster. They did well this season, but it is nowhere near enough to be considered one of the top five teams in the NFC. This team hasn’t been performing its best and hasn’t been able to in the NFC West in several years. To improve significantly this year, they’ll need to put more focus on run defense, as it is still their main issue. The Seahawks need to make sure they are attentively fixing what they are clearly lacking if they want to have any chance at even winning in their division and making it to the playoffs.
