The Tennessee Titans have spent a significant amount of resources on their offensive line. The team has taken an offensive lineman in the first round of the last two drafts. Two years ago, the team drafted Peter Skoronski and followed it up by drafting JC Latham last year. The line still needs some work, and they are now turning to free agency. Tennessee has signed veteran guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year deal.
Tennessee Titans Sign Kevin Zeitler
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports it is a one-year, $9 million contract for Kevin Zeitler. The former first-round pick has played for 13 seasons, bouncing around the league. He has played for the Bengals, Browns, Giants, Ravens, and Lions during his career, with a Pro Bowl season coming in 2023 with Baltimore. The Tennessee Titans need some help on the offensive line and hope Zeitler can help protect whoever is under center in 2025.
Over the past two seasons, when Will Levis was under center, he was sacked 69 times. 41 of those came last season. While the second-round quarterback can shoulder some of that blame, the line did not do him any favors. Tennessee has talent on the roster, but if there isn’t time for a play to develop, nothing else really matters.
Nowhere To Go But Up
The Tennessee Titans hold the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Many have speculated that the team will take a young quarterback and start the rebuild anew. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are the top prospects, and the Titans can have their pick. While some have wondered whether they will stick with Levis for another year, this play didn’t inspire confidence. The biggest concern was the lack of improvement. Mistakes happen, but it is all about how you learn from them. Levis continued to make back-breaking errors that hurt the team.
The Titans continue to remake their roster, and the offensive line is looking much better heading into 2025. They are also in one of the easier divisions in the NFL, making it possible to win a few more games than expected. Can the Titans show some sort of promise in 2025?
