Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp Is Recovering While Other Key Players Are Limited
The Seahawks’ injury report is in, and several key players are on it. With some good news or some bad news. But that’s not all. The Cardinals also released their injury report. And they have their own key players on it as well, showing both teams’ struggles.
Seahawks Injury Report
The biggest name on the Seahawks injury report is by far Cooper Kupp. The former Super Bowl MVP receiver did not play last week because of a hamstring injury. The good news is he’s been moved from inactive to limited and is practicing now.
The bad news is that he is still limited. It could mean he still doesn’t get any action in the Seahawks’ next game or will be limited there, too. Kupp has been struggling to adapt to the Seahawks‘ new offense this year.
In seven games played, Kupp only had 293 receiving yards and 1 touchdown all year. With how great Jaxon Smith-Njigba is, with his league-leading 948 yards and 4 touchdowns, it overshadows him. If Seattle wants to make the Super Bowl, it needs more than one key player at receiver.
As teams focus so hard on Smith-Njigba, Seattle must try to get Kupp healthy and help him integrate and understand the offense. As for the Seahawks‘ other injured players, former South Carolina Gamecock and Super Bowl LVI champion Ernest Jones IV limped out of Washington during Sunday’s win due to a knee injury.
Knee injuries are almost always a very serious thing for athletes to deal with. But from how things look, his injury will be the expectation. He was limited in Wednesday’s practice and hopes to be back in action Sunday.
Receiver Jake Bobo (calf), Cornerback Josh Jobe (concussion), and Wide Receiver Dareke Young (quadricep) all didn’t practice for the second straight day. This does leave holes for the Cardinals to exploit. TE AJ Barner (calf) also had limited participation on Wednesday.
Cardinals Injury Report
The Cardinals have their own injuries, even to key players. Such as 2018 All-Rookie Team guard Will Hernandez, who hasn’t played all year because of a horrifying ACL injury he suffered last year.
Hernandez was seen practicing with the Cardinals, although it is unknown if he’ll be returning to the field against the Seahawks. One of the Cardinals’ other limited players is Budda Baker. The two-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler is suffering from a hamstring issue right now.
This limited him in practice, and he was far from the only key player in the secondary who was limited in practice. Seventh-round rookie Safety Kitan Crawford has a hamstring issue of his own. Cornerback Max Melton walked off the field with the most serious of injuries, a concussion. He didn’t practice at all as he worked through the concussion protocol.
And second-round rookie Cornerback Will Johnson is limited with multiple issues. One was on his back; the other was in his hip. With how productive the Sam Darnold and Smith-Njigba duo has been in 2025, they will try to exploit the injury.
Having so many pieces gone from their secondary, especially key players like Melton and Baker, gives the Seahawks and their high-flying passing game the advantage as the two rivals clash.
