This season, Tyrese Haliburton played in his second All-Star game. He has 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists with 10 3-pointers made. It was a solid performance and put him in the race for All-Star game MVP alongside Jaylen Brown and actual MVP winner Damian Lillard. He is currently leading his team in points and assists. Haliburton is the Indiana Pacers first option and has always been consistent, especially from the three-point line.
This has been true until recently. For the past few games, his three-point percentage has dropped, and he continues to struggle. Thankfully, with the pickup of Pascal Siakam, this three-point drop hasn’t caused significant issues for the Pacers ability to win.

On January 8th of this year, Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton injured his hamstring in a game against the Boston Celtics. He missed 5 games, and his stats in his return game were 21 points and 17 assists. It seemed like things were back to normal for the guard. However, his three-point percentage has taken a huge hit. Before his hamstring injury, Haliburton was shooting 40.3% from three for the Indiana Pacers. This put him in the top 40 in three-point percentage, but since then, he has dropped to 122nd, which is an insane decline. There is a major possibility that his hamstring injury has affected his shooting from deep. Haliburton’s field goal percentage has remained steady after the injury. It could be that Haliburton’s hamstring is still bothering him, making the three-point shot more difficult.
Haliburton Comments on His Shooting Issue with the Indiana Pacers

"I’ve never went through a stretch like this in my life. This s*** sucks. It seems like everyone has the f***ing answer but it’s about me figuring s*** out." pic.twitter.com/TxhNI41ApG

After his last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Haliburton clearly knew he was having issues. However, even with this slump, the Indiana Pacers have managed to stay 3-2 in their last 5. The good news here is that Haliburton understands that his game is off. Hopefully, the young guard can figure it out by the end of the season. They have 13 games left in the regular season before they have to worry about the playoffs. The Pacers currently sit in 7th place, one spot from clinching a playoff spot. As of right now, they will be in the play-in. They are only one game behind the 6th place 76ers. Also, the Miami Heat are chasing them from behind. Consequently, Haliburton’s slump could cause the team to slip.
How Are the Indiana Pacers Handling This?
Despite Haliburton’s inability to knock it down from three, his teammates have managed to help make that a nonfactor for now. This is especially true thanks to Pascal Siakam, who the Indiana Pacers got in a trade from the Toronto Raptors. The power forward averages 21.5 points per game, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. Also, Myles Turner is averaging a strong 17.2 points per game, 7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. The rest of the starters and the bench are also contributing a lot right now. Hopefully, this can give the Pacers enough gas in the tank to stay in 7th or even break into a playoff spot before the season ends.
