Thomas Tuchel leaving Bayern Munich despite intensive talks with management.

It is confirmed. Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel will no longer be staying with the club. His last game will be the one against Hoffenheim and that will be it. The news came as a shock as there was talk that he could be extending his contract for another year but unfortunately, that’s not the case. How did that come to be and why is what we’re here to find out.

Bayern stated in February that Tuchel would be leaving Bayern at the end of the season. However, Thomas Tuchel didn’t take no for an answer and he held talks with the club on a “180-degree turn” that would have seen him stay after all. “We found no agreement on further cooperation so the agreement from February remains in force,” he said.

It turns out that Bayern Munich is looking for high-profile replacements for Tuchel such as Xabi Alonso, who decided to stay with Bayer Leverkusen after beating Bayern to the Bundesliga title. There is also Tuchel’s predecessor Julian Nagelsmann, who signed an extension with the German national team, and Ralf Rangnick, who remains with Austria.

It’s the Final Countdown

After losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, and losing in the Champions League semi-finals against Real Madrid, a lot is awaiting Thomas Tuchel before leaving the club in his final match against Hoffenheim, playing over second place in the Bundesliga. This is the first time for Bayern Munich to leave the season without any trophies since 2012.

The stakes are even higher as the injury list is as long as ever. Striker Harry Kane is undergoing treatment for a reported back injury, while Leroy Sané, Kim Min-Jae, Kingsley Coman, Raphael Guerreiro, and Jamal Musiala are also injured and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting caught the flu. Additionally, right back Sacha Boey has been granted personal leave so his first-choice team is not available. Will they be able to win second place and make it an honorable leave for Tuchel despite all these hurdles?

Thomas Tuchel is hoping to hear from Manchester United if they sack under-fire manager Erik ten Hag. United is considering many coaches, including Tuchel, if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos, who are in control of sporting operations at Old Trafford, choose to make a managerial change in the coming weeks. The 50-year-old left Chelsea in September 2022 and made no secret of his love for English football so, he is keen on making a return.

Overall, Thomas Tuchel has seen a lot of success in his managerial career. He became famous after managing Borussia Dortmund before leaving for London. There, he lifted the Champions League trophy with the Blues in his debut season. After a successful stint, he join the French Giants PSG, winning the domestic league with them. However, despite not being able to win anything with Bayern, he is still considered one of the biggest names in the present scenario.
