The Dallas Cowboys do not seem to be in a rush to sign Dak Prescott to an extension. Prescott is entering the final year of his contract, and many expect a deal to be made this off-season. However, Jerry Jones doesn’t seem too keen on dishing out a historic contract right now. It has led to wild speculation about what the Cowboys should do, with many analysts projecting the team to trade him, maybe even on draft night.
Dallas Cowboys To Trade Dak Prescott?
At this point of the NFL offseason, analysts tend to throw out their wildest takes in an effort to steal a portion of the spotlight. However, multiple analysts are suggesting that the Dallas Cowboys should trade Dak Prescott. In “First Things First,” Nick Wright said that the New England Patriots should position themselves to get Prescott by trading the third overall pick. Others have a draft day trade, given the value the Cowboys could get for their quarterback.
One analyst is saying the Dallas Cowboys should send Dak Prescott to the Las Vegas Raiders. Craig Carton spoke about an unverified rumor he had been hearing.
“Well, there’s smoke in the air out of Dallas … there are starting to be rumors down there on Dallas sports talk radio that Dak Prescott is going to be traded. And the storyline, and I want to be clear, it’s unconfirmed, there are talks that the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders have had some conversations in which the Raiders would send four picks and maybe Gardner Minshew to Dallas to get the expiring contract of Dak Prescott.”
It’s an interesting thought and would be a huge deviation from the all-in approach. Should they consider it?
What Should The Dallas Cowboys Do?
I have always believed that no player is untouchable. Teams should always listen to offers. The Dallas Cowboys should listen to offers for Dak Prescott. While the team has seen a lot of regular-season success, his 2-5 record in the playoffs leaves a lot to be desired. The team could do a quick rebuild by gaining lots of draft capital from a team. With the draft capital plus CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and lots of young talent, the Cowboys could be contending soon.
It isn’t likely the Dallas Cowboys trade Dak Prescott. More than likely, they roll into this season with him under center. He has something to prove to the fans and to other teams. Can he finally get this talented roster over the hump and into a Super Bowl?
