It has been another rough season on the South Side of Chicago for the White Sox. They had the fourth-fewest wins last regular season when went 61-101 and this season has not gotten off to a good start either. Chicago is the lowest-scoring team in all of Major League Baseball by a fairly wide margin and has the fewest home runs in the league. Chicago also has the second-lowest batting average in Major League Baseball and is last in On Base Percentage.
The team’s lackluster offense is led by Right Fielder Gavin Sheets and Left Fielder Andrew Benintendi. Sheets leads the team with a .257 average and Benintendi has 13 RBI to lead the ballclub.
The 2024 Chicago White Sox have struggled on the mound as well. They are 26th in ERA at 4.80, have surrendered the most home runs in the league, and are fourth-worst in WHIP.
White Sox Parting With Top Talent
The White Sox have traded away some of their best talent in recent years, and are looking to do the same thing this season. Chicago traded Starting Pitcher Dylan Cease to the San Diego Padres in March of 2024 and Shortstop Tim Anderson left the team in free agency following the 2023 season.
According to NBC Sports Chicago, the Chicago White Sox are expected to trade many of their high-profile players later this season. Some of these players rumored to be on the trading block are Designated Hitter Eloy Jimenez, Relief Pitcher Michael Kopech, and Starting Pitcher Erick Fedde.
As the regular season marches on, many contenders will turn to the Chicago White Sox to try and bolster their roster for a playoff push.
White Sox Upcoming Schedule
