The Iowa Hawkeyes made some noise in the offseason when they landed Kadyn Proctor in the transfer portal. Last season, Proctor was the starting tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide but left when Nick Saban decided to leave. He decided to go to Iowa, his hometown state. While the program is not known for explosive offenses, they have a knack for finding good linemen. However, Proctor’s stint in Iowa City will be short-lived. He announced that he intends to enter the spring transfer portal.
Iowa Hawkeyes Kadyn Proctor Set To Transfer
NEWS: Iowa OT Kadyn Proctor plans to enter the Transfer Portal when the spring window opens, he tells @on3sports

According to On3, Kadyn Proctor will enter the spring transfer portal when it opens on April 15th. This is a massive loss for the Iowa Hawkeyes, as Proctor has been compared to Tristan Wirfs and Trent Williams. The 6-foot-7, 318-pound tackle immediately becomes one of the top targets in the spring. Pretty much every team can use offensive line depth, and Proctor has starting experience.
It is unclear whether this is the beginning of another wave of transfers or an outlier. In this situation, something must have gone wrong during spring practices for the Iowa Hawkeyes that made Proctor question his decision. There are little details out right now to know whether it is NIL-related or not.
Big Blow For The Iowa Hawkeyes
This was one of the massive transfer portal additions for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He won’t play a snap for them. This type of player movement is what has many people questioning the new college football landscape. People have been positive about players being free to move teams, but this is where people question the current rules. Proctor was with the program for two months and now has reversed his decision.
The Iowa Hawkeyes won’t be the only team dealing with this issue. Other players have already indicated they plan to enter the transfer portal when April 15th rolls around. Kadyn Proctor will be one of the top targets, and it will be interesting to see what programs target him.
