The Buffalo Bills have had nothing but disappointment for the past few seasons. While they have enjoyed regular season success, they haven’t been able to get over the hump in the playoffs. They have been remaking their team on both offense and defense this offseason. On Wednesday, the team made a blockbuster move. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is being traded to the Houston Texans for draft capital.

The Stefon Diggs era with the Buffalo Bills has ended. He is being shipped off to Houston for some draft capital. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that sources indicate the Bills are receiving a 2025 second round pick while giving up Diggs, a 2024 sixth round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick. The second-round pick that the Texans are giving up was acquired in a trade this off-season with Minnesota.
The Buffalo Bills will now have to figure out how to replace the production that Stefon Diggs had with the team. While last year was considered a down year for the former All-Pro, he still had 107 catches for 1.183 yards and eight touchdowns. That is a lot of production to replace. This team will look very different in 2024, and their Super Bowl chances are now in question.
New Look Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have lost a lot of key pieces this offseason. Besides Stefon Diggs, the team has lost Jordan Poyer, Tre’Davious White, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis, Tyrel Dodson, and Leonard Floyd this offseason. While the team still has many quality pieces, this is a lot of production to replace. If there is a silver lining for the team, it is that they have Josh Allen. Finding a franchise quarterback is the hardest part of building a team, and they have that solved.
The challenge for the Buffalo Bills is to build around Allen for the next phase of this team. Many fans and analysts have questions what Stefon Diggs brings to the team. In 2024, we will see exactly what kind of impact he had on the team. Will this be a move the Bills regret?
