At Arkansas, Treylon Burks was used as a slot receiver as a three-year starter in college, but in the NFL so far, he was used more on the outside full-time despite the lack of experience. The Denver Broncos still have a ways to go roster-wise in the AFC West, which has been dominated by the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs for essentially the past decade. It seems like the injury bug has hit the Washington Commanders again, this time with rookie Johnny Newton, who had post-season surgery on his right foot. Now two weeks post-draft with the start of rookie camps, it was announced that he will need the same surgery done to his left foot four months later. The Baltimore Ravens are known for finding hidden gems in the wide pool of undrafted rookie free agents right after the NFL Draft. For this huge of a class, they mostly targeted local players, along with productive small-school guys and bigger-name programs who should’ve been drafted but weren’t for whatever reason. Unfortunately, it seems the comeback tour won’t continue with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina released Tarik Cohen as they announced their first wave of cuts to make room for undrafted rookie free agents. The Los Angeles Rams release beloved team captain Ben Skowronek, a former seventh-round pick from 2021. The 26-year-old receiver was on the team that won the Super Bowl in his rookie year and was used as a multifaceted weapon for head coach Sean McVay’s offense. In theory for the Steelers, I guess having someone who is explosive running the ball back to return kicks with the new rules isn’t the worst idea. At the top of the third round with the 66th overall selection, the Arizona Cardinals get their running back of the future. Florida State’s Trey Benson is the second running back taken in the draft, only behind Jonathon Brooks in the second round at pick 46.
