The Philadelphia Eagles started hot again in 2023 but at around the halfway mark, the defense collapsed and the offense seemed broken. Unlike 2022 which ended with a Super Bowl appearance, Philly did not even make it past the Wild Card round in the playoffs against the Buccaneers. Ultimately despite their big names, the 11-6 Eagles placing in second for the NFC East had their biggest meltdown in Tampa Bay, getting embarrassed 32-9 away from home. The coordinator changes on both sides of the ball and depth on the roster were deficiencies that got the better of them. However, this…

With the best record in the NFL last year at 13-4, the Baltimore Ravens will look to repeat success as the league’s best. After losing in the AFC title game in their building 17-10 to the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs, they will have a chance to set the tone early with a win, or loss against the two-time back-to-back champs. Last year, this offense got the benefit of the doubt, as it was the first season with Todd Monken and Lamar Jackson in his system. There were flashes of greatness, but the inconsistencies from Jackson and the guys around…

The New York Jets had their official 2024 NFL schedule released, unveiling they have six games in primetime on Monday Night, Thursday Night, and Sunday Night football games. That starts with their Week 1 opener, as Aaron Rodgers is welcomed back home in California against the runner-up San Francisco 49ers. That will be a big test early for the Jets, as their home opener isn’t till Week 3 against the division rival New England Patriots with rookie quarterback Drake Maye or veteran Jacoby Brissett. With five home games before their Week 12 bye week, they face half of their AFC…

It was announced that the Ravens will meet the Chiefs at Arrowhead for the NFL Thursday night season opener. Two AFC heavyweights will duke it out in Week 1, as the Super Bowl Champions Kansas City team will face Baltimore in their building. The last time they met, the Chiefs beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship game last year at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Their last regular season meeting was in 2021, as Baltimore got the upper hand at home over Kansas City with a win. Both teams have had some roster turnover this offseason, especially the Ravens,…

At Arkansas, Treylon Burks was used as a slot receiver as a three-year starter in college, but in the NFL so far, he was used more on the outside full-time despite the lack of experience. His productive third season with the Razorbacks showcased his potential, going over 1,100 yards with 12 total touchdowns on 66 catches. The 24-year-old has only played 21 games and started 14 of them in the past two seasons for the Tennessee Titans, with 665 career yards. Burks did have some highlight reel plays with Tennessee when he’s been on the field, especially the one touchdown…

The 2024 NFL season is just four months away. With the NFL officially releasing its schedule in two days, the only game known is the Week 1 Friday game for the first time in Brazil. Till now, with the announcement of the NFL season opener on Thursday Night. The day before the Philadelphia Eagles go against the Green Bay Packers in South America on September 6th, the Baltimore Ravens visit the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium. This is a rematch from the 2023 AFC Championship, as the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs came into M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and outlasted…

The Denver Broncos still have a ways to go roster-wise in the AFC West, which has been dominated by the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs for essentially the past decade. The last time a non-Chiefs team won was the Broncos in 2015, when they had a five-year run from 2011 to 2015 as division champions. Any team, not including Kansas City, will have to force their way into the playoff mix with a Wildcard berth, most likely for Denver, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the new Broncos quarterback could take them where they need to…

It seems like the injury bug has hit the Washington Commanders again, this time with rookie Johnny Newton, who had post-season surgery on his right foot. Now two weeks post-draft with the start of rookie camps, it was announced that he will need the same surgery done to his left foot four months later. Newton went from being a potential first-round pick to falling to the second round and is now dealing with this setback. Newton will have to be patient with the Commanders. The Washington defensive tackle can afford patience, however, due to their depth on the interior defensive…

The Baltimore Ravens are known for finding hidden gems in the wide pool of undrafted rookie free agents right after the NFL Draft. For this huge of a class, they mostly targeted local players, along with productive small-school guys and bigger-name programs who should’ve been drafted but weren’t for whatever reason. This year, the Ravens had numerous roster spots open post-draft after nine selections, so that led to the addition of 22 more rookies as undrafted free agents. Although most, if not all except one or two at best won’t make the 53-man roster, this is great to bring in…

Unfortunately, it seems the comeback tour won’t continue with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina released Tarik Cohen as they announced their first wave of cuts to make room for undrafted rookie free agents. The veteran coming out of the rookie minicamp this past week will not make the team, as the 28-year-old was let go for the 18 undrafted rookies to be signed on the roster. The Panthers also cut another ball carrier, Spencer Brown, with seven running backs on the roster with the signing of another veteran. Cohen was already a long shot to make the team, but the scatback…

The Los Angeles Rams release beloved team captain Ben Skowronek, a former seventh-round pick from 2021. The 26-year-old receiver was on the team that won the Super Bowl in his rookie year and was used as a multifaceted weapon for head coach Sean McVay’s offense. For the Rams in 2023, the former receiver from Notre Dame was essentially phased out due to a lack of playing time and the starters they already had playing over him. Although he didn’t get too many chances to showcase his potential as a playmaker as a Ram, they added veteran receivers the past two…

The Baltimore Ravens bring in more competition for the backup quarterback spot behind two-time MVP starter Lamar Jackson. This is despite Baltimore re-signing journeyman backup Josh Johnson but losing backup Tyler Huntley, who signed with the division rival Cleveland Browns this offseason. They drafted 24-year-old Devin Leary from Kentucky in the sixth round of this past NFL Draft. Although he could get a roster spot along with the veteran for the Baltimore Ravens, a late-day three selection doesn’t mean much in the grander scheme of things. After participating in tryouts for the Ravens this past weekend, Cincinnati quarterback Emory Jones…

The Los Angeles Chargers get their speed receiver in DJ Chark as a free-agent addition. This gives star quarterback Justin Herbert a deep target in a new offense, something they do not have currently on the roster. The veteran spent last year with the Carolina Panthers and a season with the Detroit Lions in 2022. Due to injuries and a crowded receiver room, Chark has never gotten going in the past two seasons. At 27 years old, the former Pro-Bowler from 2019 still has a lot left in the tank and now will get to showcase it despite being in…

In theory for the Steelers, I guess having someone who is explosive running the ball back to return kicks with the new rules isn’t the worst idea. It would be crazy if it were done, as this is at a non-skill position with the quarterback, arguably the most valuable position in the NFL. Justin Fields’ three years with the Chicago Bears didn’t go to plan, as they drafted their franchise quarterback number one overall to replace him in USC’s Caleb Williams. But what stood out was the insane rushing ceiling the 25-year-old brought on the field when he wasn’t injured.…

The Baltimore Ravens had a great day three for the 2024 NFL Draft. I would say this is mostly due to their two fourth-round picks, addressing cornerback again as a BPA approach and wide receiver, getting another target for Lamar Jackson. This was after taking Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins in the first round with the 30th overall pick. Baltimore has thrived on the best player available approach historically, among other teams, as many draft consensus had Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa going on day two at the very least. North Carolina wide receiver Devontez Walker was fitting for the fourth…

According to the NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, Tua Tagovailoa’s younger brother, Taulia, will accept an invite and attend rookie mini-camp for the Seattle Seahawks this coming weekend. The highly decorated college quarterback with NFL bloodlines will get his shot to enter the NFL unconventionally on a tryout basis. The super senior was not picked in the draft out of the other 11 quarterbacks selected this past weekend. Taulia was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine and didn’t test at the Maryland Pro Day. The former Maryland quarterback participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl and consecutively led the Terps to…

The 2024 NFL Draft just ended, and the Philadelphia Eagles take a flyer on a potential right tackle of the future in free agency. The 25-year-old Mekhi Becton signs a one-year deal pending a physical he will take on Monday. The former 11th overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft has not panned out due to injuries among a few other issues on and off the field. At 6’7″ and 363 pounds, the Eagles are the perfect team to stash a young tackle to develop more than he did with the New York Jets. Philadelphia gets him a cheap contract…

The Baltimore Ravens did some serious work on their primary needs so far in the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft. While needs like wide receiver, interior offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, safety, and running back could still be in the cards, those can be addressed on day three. With six picks in rounds four to seven, I would expect the Ravens to be busy today sticking and picking or possible trade-up scenarios for their guys. So far, Baltimore has stayed put at their three picks the last two days. The Baltimore Ravens mantra is normally best player…

At the top of the third round with the 66th overall selection, the Arizona Cardinals get their running back of the future. Florida State’s Trey Benson is the second running back taken in the draft, only behind Jonathon Brooks in the second round at pick 46. The 21-year-old senior was a consensus top-five back in this draft class and offers a nice size and speed combination to complement the other running backs on the roster. At 6’0″ and 216 pounds, Benson was the fourth pick for the Arizona Cardinals in this draft class and could be a role player early…

The Philadelphia Eagles’ biggest weakness last year was in the secondary. With their first two picks of the 2024 NFL Draft, they double-dip and attack the cornerback position. On night one, the Eagles picked Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell 22nd overall in round one as one of the better picks value-wise. On day two of the draft so far, Philadelphia traded up for Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean, a consensus first-round rated player who fell to the second round. So far, while the Eagles do have other needs, the needs on defense other than linebacker have been addressed essentially with both…
