College Football Analysts Says Colorado Buffaloes Are ‘Changing The Dynamic’ Of The Conference

The Colorado Buffaloes went 4-8 in their first season under head coach Deion Sanders. Before the season, many college football analysts didn’t believe the team would do much better in 2024. They have defied the odds and already matched the win total of last year. Last week’s victory against UCF was especially impressive as the team went on the road and dominated a conference opponent. It has led to many analysts reconsidering their Big 12 picks. FOX’s Joel Klatt is one of those people and said the program is “changing the dynamic” of the conference.

Joel Klatt On The Colorado Buffaloes

Joel Klatt did a segment on his podcast talking about the Colorado Buffaloes. He could not be more impressed with what he has been seeing lately out of the team. No one has questioned the greatness of players like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, but it was the rest of the team that concerned analysts. Klatt spoke about how this latest win was a complete team win.

“All of a sudden, we got a version of this Colorado Buffaloes team that we have never seen before,” Klatt said of CU’s 48-21 win. “The complete Colorado showed up and now all of a sudden, that is an incredible surprise in college football, and it’s changing the dynamic of the Big 12.”

The Colorado Buffaloes controlled the game from start to finish. More importantly, they are improving week to week. The first two weeks of the season had many fans worried. They barely beat FCS powerhouse North Dakota State and then got waxed by Nebraska. Since then, they have won three straight, and the defense has looked much improved. Deion Sanders is proving that he has some coaching prowess and isn’t just there for the media hype.

Looking Ahead

The Colorado Buffaloes are off this week. It is a much-needed break before their schedule starts to pick up. The good news for the team is their three toughest games remaining on the schedule are all at home. Kansas State, Utah, and Oklahoma State all come to Boulder at some point this season. While these will be tough games, none of these teams are juggernauts. The Wildcats struggled on the road against BYU. Utah is having quarterback injuries, and Oklahoma State looked lifeless against Kansas State last weekend.

It isn’t out of the question that the Colorado Buffaloes will be in the Big 12 Championship game on December 7. A lot can happen in a college football season. However, if Deion Sanders can get this team to continually improve, they have the pieces to be a scary team in a one game playoff. As always, the Colorado Buffaloes are entertaining television. If they can continue to win, the entertainment value only goes up.
