On the March 15th episode of Friday Night Smackdown, two new matches have been confirmed for this year’s Wrestlemania. One of these matches is a title match that could have huge implications coming out of the Grandest Stage of them All.
BROTHER VS BROTHER
The first match that was confirmed in this week’s episode of Smackdown is the match between Jimmy Uso and his twin brother Jey Uso. On the March 11th episode of Monday Night Raw, Jey officially challenged Jimmy to a match on the big stage, and on Smackdown, Jimmy accepted his brother’s offer.
The Usos have been indirectly feuding with each other ever since Summerslam. Moreover, Jimmy had turned on Jey, costing him his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against their older cousin Roman Reigns. Jey had shown up to Smackdown the week after, attacking Jimmy. However, he had been traded to Raw not so long after to keep the brothers apart from each other until Mania season. They had gone face to face a few times after that segment, specifically toward the build to Survivor Series. That was just added suspense with the intention still being a match at Wrestlemania. They would meet once again in the 2024 Royal Rumble, as they were the first two to kick off the 30-man match coming out at #1 and #2 respectively. This match will let the WWE Universe know who the better brother truly is.
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
The most important match that was confirmed on last night’s show. It was a triple-threat match for the WWE United States Championship. The champion, Logan Paul, had requested a spot on this year’s Wrestlemania in a backstage segment with Smackdown’s GM Nick Aldis. Later in the night, Randy Orton defeated Grayson Waller, pinning him after hitting him with an RKO. Austin Theory and Logan Paul then got into the ring, attacking Randy Orton, before Kevin Owens came out for the save. Aldis then came out to the crowd and confirmed a triple-threat match at Wrestlemania between Owens, Orton, and Paul.

Logan Paul previously beat Kevin Owens at the 2024 Royal Rumble via disqualification. Owens had attacked Logan Paul during the Elimination Chamber match in Perth, leading up to this Wrestlemania showdown. This match was seen as no surprise to the fans as this three-way feud had been built up for weeks. It has now officially been confirmed.

Alongside these matches, two new tag teams have been confirmed to compete in the Six-Pack Ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The first team to qualify for the match was Legado Del Fantasma. Santos Escobar helped his faction partners Angel and Berto win their qualifying match over the LWO. The second team to qualify was the New Catch Republic. They defeated Pretty Deadly to secure a spot in the match at Wrestlemania.
This year’s Wrestlemania is starting to come together, and the fans should expect to see more matches being made official on next week’s Raw and Smackdown.
