Current Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has had one amazing career on the football field. Despite being recently injured in the 2023 season in the National Football League, it is best to look back at his early years before being drafted to the big leagues.
Trevor Lawrence’s early career in High School to becoming a Clemson Tiger
One fun fact is that Trevor Lawrence went undefeated as a QB in high school before going to college. According to Wikipedia, “From his sophomore year to his senior year, Lawrence led the Purple Hurricanes to 41 straight victories, winning two state championships and four region titles while also receiving numerous national high school player of the year honors.”
According to NCAA.com, Lawrence also reported scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee, among other schools. “He was the No. 1 high school prospect in 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.”
Trevor Lawrence rallied the Tigers to defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide 44-10 with a 15-0 undefeated record. Lawrence carried the team to another national championship appearance but did not come out victorious against the LSU Tigers, as Joe Burrow had an incredible season that year.
To record stats during his legendary run in Clemson, he went 38-2 with the team. According to NCAA.com, The Tigers won the first 29 games of Lawrence’s career, including a national championship run during his freshman season. His other loss compared to LSU was against the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2021. He recorded 90 TDs, 758 completions, and gained 10,098 yards.
Trevor Lawrence’s Career in Jacksonville
Trevor Lawrence has had a stellar career in the NFL, but the spark has not shown yet. Lawrence was drafted as the first round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars. During the 2022 season, he led the team to the playoffs and pulled off an incredible comeback against Justin Herbert’s Los Angeles Chargers.
He traveled to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs, but didn’t advance to the AFC Championship Game. According to CBSSports, he completed 370 passes, gained 4,016 yards, and scored 21 TDs during the 2023 season. Nonetheless, Lawrence has a lot to look forward to in his career in the NFL.
