The toughest figure in professional wrestling, Sting, may have left the wrestling ring, but he has not left the wrestling arena of AEW. Sting has now retired from wrestling after giving a great last performance at AEW Revolution in the company’s PPV named Revolution as the Elevation Champion with Darby Allin.
This year, the icon announced that he penned a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling, but this time as a licensing and appearance deal that is a new direction for the icon. Outside of wrestling, he is also reviving his real estate business, something he was involved in before gaining wrestling fame.
Sting’s Continued Presence in AEW
While he may not be wrestling anymore, Sting’s relationship with AEW is still great. The contract he agreed on does not promote wrestling but instead licenses and appearances so he will remain relevant in the company. To quote Sting, the contract advised him that the offer was a ‘legends” type and that he would pop in here and there when and if AEW required his involvement, but he is not coming back to wrestle.
His impact on the wrestling world is hardly over. Sting will also remain active within AEW in other forms, such as through interviews and meet and greets with his fans. It hasn’t mattered whether he has been ‘on camera’ as a TV host, an emcee for promotional events, or even behind the scenes; Sting’s legacy will be visible for years to come.
A Return to Real Estate
Sting is of course going to continue working for AEW, but he is also back to his old passion of real estate. He was originally a real estate investor, a business he had wished to engage in since his early years. He mentioned being involved in flipping houses long before it became popular, which helped him establish financial stability before starting his pro wrestling career.
But now that wrestling is gradually coming to an end for Sting, he has gone back to real estate investment. The way he has centered his energy on flipping and searching for hot real estate properties is consistent with his commercial nature outside the boxing ring. Sting has said he is not a real estate agent but an investor.
