Kaz Grala’s Career Could Be Dead Unless He Does Tries This Insane Move
In 2018, Kaz Grala’s career hit a strange crossroads when the team he was supposed to go full-time with, JGL, shut down mid-season. Most would’ve expected the Polish American to go drifting from whatever team needed a drive that week. That’s when the Grala family shocked everyone.
By Starting FURY Race Cars in Xfinity
And that went better than anyone expected. As Kaz Grala performed better on a team his father started at the last minute than on the established midpack team he originally joined. In eleven races, he earned four top tens. And in the first 10 races he did with JGL, he had only 1 top-10 finish.
That wasn’t a coincidence, or purely because of Kaz Grala’s burst of determination to make the most of a bad situation. Before Fury Race Cars was an Xfinity team, they started in 2016, started by Darius Grala, Tony Eury Jr., and Jeff Fultz to manufacture Pro and Super Late Models called the (Model L) and Modified race cars (Model M), as well as track-day road-course cars (Model R).
And part of that was serving as the late-model team for Darius’s son, Kaz Grala. So, well before their first start in that No. 61 Ford at Charlotte, they knew his driving style and preferences, making it easier to appeal to him as a driver and leading to the brief success he had in 2018.
And that wasn’t for nothing, and it did lead to a part-time opportunity with one of the biggest teams in the sport in RCR. Going part-time in their No.21 car from 2019 to 2020. That even led to Kaz Grala’s first career Cup Series start. After he replaced Dillon, he tested positive for COVID-19 in the iconic three-car. At the Daytona road course, he went off to finish seventh, a top ten for his first career start.
Where Is Kraz Grala Today?
Now, cut to 2025, and Kaz Grala’s career is on the ropes. Despite it being stable in 2024, he was part-time in the Cup Series for Rick Ware Racing for 25 races. Coming up with an outstanding full-time Xfinity Campaign with Sam Hunt Racing. As he finished 17th in points with many top tens.
But going to Rick Ware Racing at all was the mistake. He did get funding to run in the Cup Series from N29 Capital Partners and Meat Nโ Bone, but it ruined his reputation and career momentum. As he was totally anonymous, riding around in one of the cars in the whole series, not getting a single top ten the entire season.
And not doing a single truck series and attempting only one Xfinity race the whole 2024 season made matters worse. Limiting the opportunities he had to show his true talent. Come 2025, Kaz Grala only did four different Xfinity Races all year, spending most of the year driving LMC’s simulator.
Why Bringing Back FURY Race Cars Could Save His Career
As the offseason winds down and more moves are announced, one name that’s been frequently left out is Kaz Grala, which is why FURY Race Cars needs to come back. You can only be in NASCAR for so long with part-time rides. Now there are reasons to be hesitant.
It’s been discussed how badly the lower-tier teams struggle with low viewership, leading to a lack of sponsors and winnings. So many would assume it would be a bad time to start an Xfinity Series team, but evidence suggests otherwise.
As Xfinity has been getting bought up and starting up left and right. Like AM Racing, which was recently bought by Sigma, Viking Motorsports, Big Machine Racing, Sam Hunt Racing, and Alpha Prime Racing, to name a few.
This is because NASCAR made the series more viable from a business standpoint, despite the series’s financial struggles, and because the series is finally recovering from the Buschwhacking era.
Through things like the charter system and the playoffs, which I don’t like, but it does make it so that teams have inherent value and more winnings if they make the playoffs, which could lead to a big sale like AM Racing did this season after making the playoffs with Harrison Burton.
Final Thoughts
So the plan here would be simple. Start back FURY Race Cars to give Kaz Grala a full-time seat in NASCAR again. Stick around for one to two seasons to show people his true talent, and woo a sponsor into funding his career.
Then shut down when Kaz Grala can get a full-time seat somewhere, or when you can sell the team to someone with cash willing to take on Kaz Grala as a driver. Then his career would officially be revived. Thanks a bunch for reading.
