Cleveland Browns End The Slide, Draft QB Shedeur Sanders In The 5th Round
Not to toot my own horn, but yours truly called it. Shedeur Sanders fell and fell hard. No team wants to come within a 39 1/2-foot pole of the Colorado Quarterback. As stated in the earlier article a few days ago, there is good reason to avoid this quarterback. But alas, some team is taking a gamble on the son of Deion Sanders. There is potential growth for the young man, but smart enough that any organization wouldn’t put all their eggs in the basket that is Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders to The Cleveland Browns
There is a definite need at quarterback, but it is extremely smart to wait till not Day 1 of the draft and save valuable money and use that Day 1 pick for a better overall player that will better help the team in not only the 2025 season but countless seasons to come. As Total Apex pointed out in the earlier article on Shedeur Sanders, there are a lot of things wrong with this quarterback, such as only playing for his dad and his inability to control the ball against better defenses. These are among the top reasons why Shedeur Sanders fell from his original mock draft by the NFL.
There is definitely talent that this young man has displayed at times, and there is no doubt that there will be a fire raging inside to prove everyone wrong. For this reason, Shedeur Sanders shouldn’t be written off as not worthy of the NFL. But rather, he is falling in the draft because organizations are taking stock beyond the name of a young man and assessing current and potential talent. Teams are being smart and going after proven talent to fill gaps that are needed. That is why even teams with QB needs are passing on Shedeur Sanders.
Final Thoughts
The Cleveland Browns have some competition in the quarterback room. They added Dillon Gabriel on day two and have veteran Joe Flacco back on the roster. Will Sanders win the job in training camp and start despite the huge slide?
