Pittsburgh Steelers Insider Gives Prediction Of When Aaron Rodgers Will Sign With The Team
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers seem destined for each other. Now that the 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, the team has Mason Rudolph and sixth-round pick Will Howard on the roster. Given the weapons on both offense and defense, the team will likely look for an upgrade at the quarterback position. The four-time MVP has been heavily rumored to sign with the team, but so far, nothing has materialized. However, a team insider recently revealed when he believes Rodgers will put the pen to the paper.
Pittsburgh Steelers Aaron Rodgers Timeline
Pittsburgh Steelers insider Mark Kaboly shared his thoughts on when Aaron Rodgers will join the team. Over the past weeks, he has predicted the quarterback will wait for a few weeks when organized team activities start. However, he narrowed down the prediction to the team’s mandatory minicamp, which begins on June 10th. Kaboly did amend his prediction a little, saying that Rodgers could sign at the end of the month when OTAs begin.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be anxious for Rodgers to get in the building and start building rapport with the receivers. George Pickens and DK Metcalf are two of the most electric receivers in the league, but the former Packers and Jets quarterback is often very particular. Getting as many reps together will be critical. However, Rodgers is to a point in his career that he doesn’t always prioritize the optional offseason workouts.
Good Idea?
The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t really have a choice. Their options are limited. Last year’s quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, have signed with new teams, and they elected not to be aggressive in the draft for a quarterback. Rodgers is the best option left. He had flashes of greatness with the Jets last season, but more often than not, failed to execute the offense consistently. However, the Jets and the Steelers are two different organizations.
Mike Tomlin has a proven track record of coaching and handling bigger personalities. The defense has bona fide superstars in T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Rodgers would not be expected to put up the numbers he did a decade ago. If he could simply come in and consistently move the ball, this team could be scary in the AFC.
Final Thoughts
Rodgers has always marched to the beat of his own drum. He will sign when he is good and ready. If he does end up signing, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be one of the most interesting teams to watch in the 2025 season.
