Philadelphia Eagles Rumor: All-Pro Safety Wants To Join Super Bowl Champs
The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for another Super Bowl run. While most people focus on the offensive firepower the Eagles bring, the defense was a huge reason why the team had success in the postseason. They are looking to be just as dominant in 2025. At this point, in the offseason, there are still many quality free agents any team could add. Former All-Pro safety Justin Simmons is still available and reportedly wants to join the defending champs.

NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger talked to the four-time All-Pro this week and is reporting he wants to be with the Philadelphia Eagles.
“He wants to come to Philadelphia. He wants to be there. They drafted Andrew Mukuba out of Texas, which is good. They’ve drafted Sydney Brown to go along with Reed Blankenship. There’s players there, but no one with the numbers, the interceptions, and really the leadership that he can provide. They lost Darius Slay. They lost some leaders in that secondary. He provides that…Just find him a house in South Jersey. He’s gonna be here.”
While the Eagles did draft the safety out of Texas, having depth on the roster isn’t a bad idea. CJ Gardner-Johnson signed with the Houston Texans, leaving a bit of a hole on the backend of the defense. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean will hopefully continue to improve, and the pass rush looks as scary as ever. Simmons would be a great veteran addition. He had a decent year for Atlanta in 2024, racking up 62 total tackles and two interceptions. It remains to be seen if the Philadelphia Eagles are actually interested.
Final Thoughts
The Philadelphia Eagles are the clear favorite in the NFC heading into 2025. They have kept all of the key pieces intact from last year’s team and added some quality pieces in the draft. If they are interested in adding Simmons, it would be another great veteran signing for a team already oozing with talent.
